Home fragrance

Selfridges smells heavenly. With its deliciously intoxicating array of diffusers, room sprays, incense and candles, the home fragrance department showcases the store’s discerning sense for surprising, intelligent and provocative aromas.

Boy Smells candle

Pink-packaged Boy Smells candles are a visual and fragrant delight. The company began as an experiment in candlemaking in the Los Angeles kitchen of co-founders and real-life partners Matthew Herman and David Kien. This is a thoroughly modern way to infuse your home.

Diptyque ‘La Prouveresse’ candle

From the herbal fragrance family, this unusual candle – ‘La Prouveresse’ means ‘wilfully determined or disposed to go counter to what is expected or desired’ – is inspired by the fig and cypress tree-lined paths around Grasse. It comes in a matt, porcelain pot, handcrafted using the terre mêlée (mixed clay) technique, ensuring that every piece is unique.

Qlocktwo clock

Literally ‘telling the time’, the German-designed wood and acrylic Qlocktwo spells out the time with words instead of numerals. Back-lit – to ensure visibility all day and at night – the cover is held in place with magnets, allowing you to switch to other colours and languages in the range, to suit your location and décor.

Begg & Co ‘Triolux Sivill’ lambswool cashmere throw

Woven in a double cloth construction from luxury yarns of contrasting weight, the design takes inspiration from traditional hand-quilted blankets and adds a modern twist. With its geometric pattern, this graphic throw makes a contemporary and luxurious addition to any interior.

GoodWaste clock

Founded by three product-design students at the Royal College of Art, GoodWaste is a reaction to the amount of high-quality materials discarded on industrial sites. Its collection of furniture and decorative homeware at Selfridges – made entirely with offcuts and waste materials – formed the trio’s final MA collection. Made in London, this clock is created from materials sourced from industrial-site skips that would otherwise be sent to landfill.

Seletti I-Wares ‘I-Mug’

Italian homeware label Seletti curates covetable collections that effortlessly blend art and fun with daily life icons. Part of the I-Wares edit, the ‘I-Mug’ has been expertly crafted from porcelain and boasts a classic design that’s offset with the playful pop-coloured handle. Perfect for delighting your dinner guests.

Kitchen and dining

Everyday, functional products are rendered as objects of pure design and desirability at Selfridges’ kitchen and dining department. In this extravaganza of taste, texture and visual pleasure, the preparation of food, eating, drinking and entertaining, become an indulgent art form.

Coravin pouring system

Founded by medical device inventor and wine aficionado Greg Lambrecht, Coravin uses innovative technology to allow you to pour the perfect glass of wine without pulling the cork out of the bottle. Crafted with sleek chrome accents, the Model Two Elite wine pouring system uses a load cell chamber and argon gas capsules to form an airtight seal and protect the remaining wine from oxidation.

Selfridges stocks a range of beautifully designed, elegantly efficient coffee-brewing equipment that will satisfy all tastes and techniques, from cold filter and slow drip to flat whites and macchiatos, home barista style.

Ratio 8 coffee maker

Making sure our morning coffee ritual is enjoyed to the maximum, Ratio 8’s coffee maker simulates the pour-over brewing methods of your local barista, precisely tracking the water levels and temperature for the best-tasting cup. You’ll never buy coffee out again.

Bi.Du.Haev ‘Oblik’ coffee stand

The people at Bi.Du.Haev take a brutalist, architectural approach to coffee-maker design. The Taipei City-based experts have designed their distinctive ‘Oblik’ coffee stand with a concrete column supporting a copper tap that holds the handcrafted glass dripper securely in place so you don’t waste a single drop of coffee. It’s a piece destined to take pride of place in any kitchen, even when it isn’t brewing your next caffeine fix.
