In upstate New York nestled amongst the Catskill Mountains, a former bunk house from the 1920s has been transformed into Eastwind Hotel & Bar and it’s just the kind of retreat city-dwellers yearn for.

Located in the unassuming mountain town of Windham, Eastwind elegantly brings Scandinavian, mid-century and rustic design touches together to create an inviting getaway, whether you’re a fan of the great outdoors or not.

Comprised of 19 accommodations that range from wood-hewn cabins to king- and queen-size rooms, a spacious four-sleeper suite with its own fireplace and even a writer’s studio that comes armed with a typewriter and expansive mountain view, this stylish hillside hotel is designed to welcome guests all year round.

While the natural surroundings are no doubt the star, the hotel is also equipped with a swimming pool, a hot tub, sauna and the Salon cocktail and coffee bar, to provide an array of modern comforts. Should the desire to embrace nature suddenly strike, a range of season-appropriate outdoor essentials, such as rain boots, snowshoes and hiking backpacks, are also available to borrow for the occasional outdoorsman.
