Pod 39 — New York, USA
In the reinvigorated Murray Hill neighbourhood, the Pod Hotel's second venture, Pod 39, not only follows the popular formula of nurturing a vibrant resident community, but does one better on its predecessor with a destination lobby. Conceived as a dynamic communal space for guests, who can already interact with fellow travellers via an innovative online chat system, the lobby boasts a bar, oversized fireplace and two ping-pong tables. Throw in chef April Bloomfield's rated taqueria, Salvation Taco, which has been packing in patrons since it opened prior to Pod 39, and you get one stylish lobby.
