Agnona A/W 2020 Milan Fashion Week Women's
Mood board: Carolyn Bessette Kennedy is emblematic of pared-back Nineties fashion. Until her marriage to John F. Kennedy Jr, she was a publicist for Calvin Klein, and images of her chic, camel and black-favouring silhouettes populate Instagram feeds. For A/W 2020, creative director Simon Holloway was inspired by a Jordan Wolfson artwork of Carolyn and John F. Kennedy Jr that he saw at Frieze last October. This meant an utterly elegant and expertly cut uptown look in camel, charcoal and navy, in fabrics from denim to double face cashmere, featuring trenchcoats, seductive asymmetric knits revealing a sliver of skin, belted A-line jackets in Prince of Wales check and delicate, multi-button cardigans.
Best in show: Holloway also introduced menswear to the label after a 20-year hiatus. The look was classic, preppy and Ivy League-inspired, featuring chunky Aran sweaters, sky blue polo necks and cardigans, and relaxed suiting paired with check shirting ad knitted socks.
Best in show: Knitwear has had a Milanese moment, and is imagined for autumn in seductive, body celebrating forms. Case in point, Holloway’s delicate knitted jumpers, bias cut and revealing slivers of skin, and lean polo neck dresses which outlined the body.
