Scene setting: The Row welcomed guests to its Tribeca showroom space once again for the presentation of its Autumn/Winter 2019 collection. The raw, industrial beauty of the airy loft space was enhanced by the simple addition of pleated, steel-panelled screens, which had a Prouvé-esque quality to them. Guests were seated just as casually on wooden apple boxes, turned lengthwise, that formed two rows flanking the concrete space.

Mood board: Minimalism always reigns supreme at The Row, but this season, the label embraced artistic flourishes like funnelneck shapes on gauzy knitted tunics and a geometric lace comprised of a circular motif, that appeared as an embellishment on collars and on a column-shaped gown. The label's poetic austerity took a fresh direction with a strong focus on tailoring and suiting this season. Silhouettes, while androgynous at first sight, were imbued with quiet touches like carefully placed pintucks and darts in the back, which enhanced the female form.

Finishing touches: The Row's expressive approach to the season effortlessly carried over into its accessories as well. Handbags ranged from leather box clutches that fit neatly into the palm of one's hand to oversized totes that were folded under the arm. Shoes also ran the gamut from sturdy, masculine boots to sheer mesh flat pumps, elegantly outlined in leather trim. Discreet, yet exuding an exquisite level of consideration when noticed, these pieces were more than icing on the cake.
