Scene setting: the provocative designer Philipp Plein is not one to shy away from putting on a show and this season was no different with him truly pushing the boat out. Staged at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, with ferries transporting guests across the river, Plein transformed the Duggal Greenhouse into some uncharted territory in outer space, complete with craggy rock and ice wall formations, a giant 18-metre wide spaceship and lots of fluffy snow.

Mood board: the dress code for life on planet Plein was an unapologetic mix of extroverted embellishment. From candy-coloured fur coats and skin tight metallic ski suits to transparent mackintosh coats and glossy puffer jackets emblazoned with trailing straps and logos, there was a boisterous glamour to the men’s and womenswear on offer.

Finishing touches: Plein’s accessories always pack a punch. For this season, some of the stunners ranged from personalised LED high top sneakers to crystal encrusted ‘Plein’ logo-ed box bags and collaborative designs with the iconic Playboy branding. Some of these new season items are now also exclusively available at the brand’s Soho pop-up space, ‘No Mercy on Mercer’. Festooned with neon lighting and a customised sports car as well, the eye-catching space is every bit as vibrant as Plein fans could hope for.
