Tod's A/W 2015

Mood board: The luxury of leather goods that are hand-made in Italy continues to inspire the work of Alessandra Facchinetti at Tod’s. Ladylike but cool, sporty yet arty, tailored but directional, this was a collection that gently calibrated refined sportswear with handcrafted detail.
Best in show: A blood red dress cut simply like a tent showed exactly what kind of workmanship a brand like Tod’s can bring to ready-to-wear. Coupled with a black and white graphic fur collar, it was simply heaven.
Finishing touches: Tod’s is first and foremost an accessories brand so there were myriad footwear choices for winter. The best of all, however, was a traditional Tod’s Gommino moccasin that had morphed into a slip-on bootie. With classic rubberised balls running up the back, an embellished upper with oversized lacing, it looked like a sporty Indian princess slipper.
