Gieves & Hawkes A/W 2015
Scene setting: Christie's is an institution, and Jason Basmajian surely built upon that reputation by placing his models within its rooms. Standing on pedestals, side by side, they were cast in spotlights, adding to the sense of solemn formality.
Mood board: The atmosphere was dark and serious, and so were the materials. Black and charcoal wool dominated, with incursions of plum and navy, while pony hair provided a lustrous focal point.
Finishing touches: In Gieves & Hawkes' third season of shoes and accessories, it becomes clear that its strong point remains the traditional materials: supple leathers and polished crocodile skins - timeless essentials that last a lifetime.
