The prestige tailors of N°1 Savile Row eschewed their home base for their A/W 2014 presentation, instead lining a bevy of statuesque models upon plinths in a reception room of Christie's auction house. An atmosphere of opulent 'aviator' sartorialism surrounded the collection, with warm chocolate and olive tones punctuating plush outerwear (including great coats, wool trenches, a shawl collar shearling) and a convincing case for the three-piece suit in grey-on-grey flannel. Amongst the bevy of tailoring brands showing this week in London, it was the beyond-meticulous attention to detail that stood out here from head to toe: think Zeiss-lensed eyewear trimmed in leather, sleek crocodile portfolio cases and hand-burnished monk-strap shoes.
