Zaha Hadid Design and Porcelanosa debut the ’Vitae’ bathroom suite
Luxury porcelain manufacturer Porcelanosa has unveiled the first images of a new bathroom collection designed in partnership with Zaha Hadid Design. The line is some of the final completed work from Hadid, who sadly passed away in March. Produced for Noken – Porcelanosa's manufacturing arm – it was first previewed at Salone del Mobile, Milan.
The collection, named ‘Vitae’, features a wide range of bath and sanitary-ware including a bathtub, basins, bathroom shelving and a wall-hung toilet with bidet. Featuring Zaha’s signature curves and fluid lines, that evoke the movement and dynamism of water, the collection was designed to merge practical needs with cutting-edge design. Inspired by seashells and the way water flows through their unique structures, the sleek ceramic pieces are a combination of the subtlety and perfection that characterised Hadid's designs.
The collection of individually handcrafted pieces won the i-NOVO Design Award from ArchiExpo, and was declared best design at Salone. July sees its official launch in London, during a presentation at Zaha Hadid Design Gallery.
