Need a break from the busy aisles, art groupie stands and oversubscribed cafes of Frieze? Then repair to St John's Lodge Gardens, located to the north of Regent’s Park’s Inner Circle. A series of compartments ornamented with sculpture and stonework, it was designed as 'fit for meditation' by Robert Weir Shultz in 1889, and features a ‘Hylas and the Nymph’ statue by Henry Pegram at its centre. The St John's Lodge house is a private residence, but visitors craving meditative relief can access the gardens through a small gate along the Inner Circle, near the park office.
