New York’s Slade Architecture collaborated on this light, airy space overlooking Eero Saarinen’s famous TWA flight centre. Past the all-white reception, the lounge features Arne Jacobsen Swan chairs, a cocktail bar and two seating pods carved from stone – plus a chill-out corner with shaded alcove sofas so guests can burrow away between flights. It’s smaller than London’s Virgin Clubhouse, but it ticks the boxes: showers, plush seating, even a billiards table. The spa has the first US Bumble and Bumble salon and offers Dr Hauschka skincare, including hydrating mini-facials. The brasserie serves Big Apple delights like pork sliders and Brooklyn ale pie, as well as your favourite Chinese treats.
