The Arthur J. — Manhattan Beach, USA

Walking into The Arthur J, off Manhattan Avenue is like stepping into a forgotten slice of vintage Americana in Palm Springs. The family-run Simms restaurant group and Chef and co-owner David LeFevre, have called upon Chicago-based architecture and interior firm, f c Studio to build out the mid-century modern building to feature plush walnut wood, black Brazilian slate flooring, a marble bar, 60s-style furnishings and leather and brass detailing. Food follows suit with a throwback menu that is all about the beef: here, classic steak cuts from NY strip to filet mignon are accompanied by side dishes like creamed spinach. We suggest kicking off your evening with the shrimp cocktail washed down with a dry martini, while of course, listening to tunes by Bill Withers or the Beatles.
