Technical prowess is a pillar of outerwear label Herno. From its riverside HQ in Lesa, Italy, the brand sculpt protective weather-proof pieces from innovative and ultra-lightweight fabrications. It’s no surprise, then, that in its first foray into footwear, Herno has paired up with Scarpa, the Italian shoe manufacturer responsible for finely crafted and durable trail-running, trekking and ski-mountaineering shoes.
The result is a match made in high-performing heaven. Herno and Scarpa's trainer is designed to withstand any terrain. Inspired by trail-running, the silhouette is made using Gore-Tex, and is waterproof, windproof and breathable. What’s more, its Vibram Megagrip sole promises maximum stability, whether standing on slushy grass or grinding down on gravel. A rubber toe cap seals the shoes’ ultra protective upper.
Herno's technical trainer taps into the luxury industry's inclination to outdoors-inspired footwear. In recent seasons, Gucci and Balenciaga have released hiking-ready trainers, while 1017 ALYX 9SM has collaborated with Italian rubber sole specialists Vibram. The Herno Laminar Assoluto is available in a range of organic colourways, and it also boasts a reflective version, should you desire a little extra illumination on your outdoor escapades. Can’t decide which tone to tuck into your camping rucksack? The shoe weighs a mere 320g – it’s so lightweight that you could carry all of them.
