Dsquared2 S/S 2015
How does one transform an arty girl into a bombshell? Just ask Dean and Dan Caten, the power twins behind the Dsquared2 label. These brothers have never met a piece of fabric they couldn’t transform into something smouldering. Even when dealing with an intellectual subject, like art, the Caten boys put a provocative twist on the affair, slicing crop tops and skirts way above their normal lengths to reveal plenty of bronzed skin on their models. The prints were the stand outs of the show, each one jumping off the runway like a painting hanging at Gagosian. There were oversized discs printed onto silk raffia; colour blocked panels across metallic shorts and coats; and Aztec-style graphics dancing across dresses and down legs on gladiator sandals. Thick eyewear signalled that the Dsquared2 woman had something brewing in her brain, which we are going to take the Catens' word on.
