Mood board: Julien Dossena was firing on all cylinders with an A/W 2016 collection that explored a cool, utilitarian futurism. Satin pointy bras layered under fine-knit tees, teamed back with pleated Japanese wool pants opened the show, followed by panelled woollen wrap dresses, which soon segued into padded duvet wrap skirts that transported us into a far spacier dimension.
Best in show: Black unwashed denim held up by western-style belt buckles (in the same ‘country’ vein as we saw at Margiela), which were also in possession of all matter of D rings – a Rabanne signature. Dossena’s daisy patterned chainmail is also sure to get loads of attention for its subversive spin on pretty.
Finishing touches: Extra chunky fringed loafers and patchwork white or silver leather judo boots secured with velcro were one part BMX bandit and one part Star Trek: Enterprise.
