At the entrance to the Freemason's Hall for Hackett's A/W 2014 show, the liveried porters and their brass trolleys stacked with luggage were somewhat of a false start to the rough-and-ready overtones of exploration that ran through the otherwise polished collection. Fine Merino sweaters were layered (crew neck over polo) under grid-checks, Prince of Wales and houndstooth suiting, with wintery ribbed beanies, felt cashmere scarves, toile backpacks and even an ice pick bulking out the natty, city silhouette. Corduroy chinos brightened up the staid offering of dressy daywear in pops of sky blue and rose pink.
