Following last year's 'Craft-Punk' collaboration, 'Design Vertigo' is this year's offering from Design Miami and Italian fashion house, Fendi.
Set within Spazio Fendi in Milan, the exhibition features a series of installations by vibrant new talent, built to explore the ways in which people approach and interact with contemporary design. Consisting of four site-specific installations, the exhibition includes a commission from renowned Swiss artist Felice Varini (opens in new tab), alongside three new works from emerging studios Random International, Graham Hudson and Beta Tank.
Opening with Varini's 'Elisse nel trapezio' - a perspective painting, which transforms from a disordered jumble of patterns into a tidy system as the viewer moves inwards - the focus of the show then shifts to an interactive LED light wall from Random International (opens in new tab), through to a sculptural installation by Graham Hudson, which features mannequins dressed in vintage Fendi furs, before finishing up in an 'immersive total environment' by Beta Tank. ‘Beta Space’ comes wrapped in a series of psychedelic patterns.
The ’Beta Space’ at Spazio Fendi has been designed by Beta Tank as an ’Immersive total environment’.
