Outdoor living takes a sophisticated turn with Exteta’s new furniture collections
Exteta’s latest outdoor furniture collections offer all the elegance and exactitude associated with Italian interiors – and take it outside
In Partnership With Exteta
Dedicated to redefining the art of outdoor living, Exteta has been creating luxury outdoor furniture from its base in Brianza, Italy, since 2006. Superior materials, artistry and design combine in pieces that prioritise both beauty and comfort. The brand’s new collections for 2025 infuse outdoor living with all the elegance, sophistication and ease associated with high-end interiors. There’s even a nod to retro nautical glamour.
‘Stringa Sofa 1963’ by Gae Aulenti, reissued by Exteta
Unveiled earlier this year, during Salone del Mobile in Milan, Exteta’s latest outdoor furniture includes collections by Studiopepe, the brand’s creative directors, as well as Massimo Castagna, and Paola Navone Otto Studio, alongside collaborations with yacht maker Riva and Loro Piana Interiors, plus reissues by Gae Aulenti and Marco Zanuso.
‘Locus Solus Chair, Jacquemus + Exteta’ special re-edition
Of his work with Exteta, Castagna describes ‘attention to materials and the way they are crafted’ and ‘the desire to experiment with new codes… to bring understated luxury to the outdoors’. For the Exteta x Riva collection, the designer created a lounge-deck ensemble of seats and coffee tables – for use on land or at sea – that embodies the two brands’ excellence, tailored craftsmanship and timeless aesthetics. Including sofas and armchairs, tables and occasional tables, sun loungers and lamps, the collection celebrates the Riva lifestyle through the use of premium materials. From prized sapele mahogany to ultra-resistant stainless steel, every detail of the collection bears witness to expertise that has permeated the Italian shipyard since 1842, and the savoir-faire of the Brianza-based furniture company, founded in 2006.

Novelties also include Castagna’s revisiting of Exteta’s existing ‘Caprera’ range. A modular sofa, customisable to multiple configurations and characterised by sleek, airy forms, is now reinterpreted in a contemporary style, with new sizes and a fixed backrest, offering even greater comfort and versatility. In addition, a new stone version of the ‘Joint’ dining table is an outdoor sculpture designed for socialising, inspired by Mediterranean flair.
‘Mochi’ armchairs by Studiopepe for Exteta
Among a series of collections designed for Exteta by Studiopepe is ‘Shell’, featuring minimalist, lightweight and linear chairs and armchairs born from research into the potential of leather and the execution of new technology. Ingeniously folded and moulded like origami, the seating designs provide comfortable, structural support and striking looks.
‘Modernista’ armchair by Studiopepe for Exteta
The same combination of rigorous design and comfort is echoed in the ‘Modernista’ collection, inspired by furnishings from the early 1900s. The series’ cushioning – leather or fabric – sits on thick metal tubing that frames a sinuous structure, paying homage to the work of Le Corbusier and Marcel Breuer.
To complete the 20th-century-modern look, ‘Astratto’ coffee tables feature enamelled copper surfaces characterised by a nuanced finish that catches and reflects the light.
‘Periscopio’ armchair by Studiopepe for Exteta
A contemporary take on Japanese lanterns, the ‘Hikari’ rechargeable lamps (named after the Japanese word for ‘light’) are chic and portable. Combining metal with opaline glass and hung from a leather strap – either individually or grouped together – they make spectacular light installations.
‘Nereide’, meanwhile, a series of outdoor baskets, is fashion-inspired, incorporating regenerated leather bands embellished with triangular motifs and studs that transform this humble object into a design accessory.
‘Moonlight’ dining table by Paola Navone Otto Studio for Exteta
Designer and architect Paola Navone’s Otto Studio completes Exteta’s creative line-up this season, adding a chair, a stool, a lamp and a table to the brand’s ‘Loro Piana Interiors Collection, The Delight Chairs by Exteta’. The studio has also created a new ‘Moonlight’ dining table, with a marble top and legs in cast aluminium or bronze, their curved, patinated surface adding to the design’s sculptural appeal.
From seating to tables and lighting, outdoor living takes a sophisticated turn.
