MOST at Selfridges, London

A celebration of all things easily overlooked, the ‘Museum of Small Things’ opened in Selfridges’ Ultralounge last week.
A collaborative effort from the creative team at the Oxford Street store, the Nicola Schwartz-founded creative agency and publishing company, Pocko, and designer Kit Grover, the ‘Museum of Small Things’ features work from over 20 Pocko-represented artists alongside pieces from a throng of well-established British names.
With work from the likes of Grayson Perry; jewellery designer Shaun Leane; Bob and Roberta Smith (whose quivering Jelly text-work has become a slogan for the exhibition) and Richard Wentworth, the show – in the words of Selfridges - consists of ‘modest masterpieces, under-valued in cultures where biggest is better and mega is best’.
Five of the store’s many on-street entrances will direct shoppers into the Ultralounge, where MOST has been co-curated by Schwartz and Grover to resemble an oversized cabinet of curiosities.
Alongside the month-long exhibition, Selfridges will also play host to a MOST pop-up shop, featuring a range of purchasable pieces from a selection of the artists on show - including a limited edition handbag by Grayson Perry and an outsized art magazine inspired by work from the exhibition, published by Pocko.
