Once art directors in the world of advertising, Indian art duo Jiten Thukral and Sumir Tagra – informally known as T&T – have been collaborating since 2000, producing their darkly witty works across a range of mediums including painting, film, sculpture and design. ‘We are very interested in underground systems,’ they explain, ‘Underground design, fashion, where the design or art doesn’t separate’. At this year’s edition of India Art Fair (2–5 February), opening this week in New Delhi, the pair will present an interactive installation, entitled Memoir Bar. Visitors are encouraged to ‘literally shred [their] memory as a cathartic process’. From their New Delhi studio, T&T talk us through their project for the fair.
