Greatest knits: layer up in Luca Faloni's cashmere cardigans
The timeless Italian label's latest chunky knit silhouettes have us hot under the collar
Trend-driven purchases have waned this year, as we’ve come face to face with the world’s consumerist mindset, and chosen to purchase items with fad-subverting value. Classic silhouettes and shapes are synonymous with the values of the new decade, and luckily for us, men's Italian label Luca Faloni has a host of expertly crafted, timeless silhouettes to invest in.
For Faloni fans, its cashmere hoodies and cable knit jumpers, crafted from impeccably soft Cariaggi Fine Yarns, alongside its Cortino cotton chinos, make for pared-back dressing staples. But its the Turin-founded brand’s recently launched knitted cardigan which has got us particularly hot under the collar. The silhouette was a particular hit on the A/W 2020 catwalks, where Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo and Hermès all layered up in the style. Faloni’s cardigan is crafted in Bergamo in premium four-ply cashmere and its chunky silhouette is a sublime option for today’s at-home lifestyle. The cardigan’s shawl collar detail makes for Zoom meeting sophistication, while its rib knit construction is cosy enough for post-home office downtime.
Supreme fabrications have also scored highly this year, as we’ve swapped stiff or scratchy materials, for those that feel wonderfully soft within a domestic-focused setting. We suggest pairing Faloni’s cashmere knitwear with other luxuriant fabrics, like shearling, leather and corduroy. We're sure Mr Faloni himself would approve.
