Mood board: As with quite a few Parisian shows, Balenciaga showed eye-popping combinations of primary colours – and each one of their blends – in combinations that were unexpected and bold. Demna Gvasalia upped the ante by making the garments swathe the models from head to toe: hoodies obscuring heads and tight trousers covering shoes.
Best in show: Spandex bodysuits, whether in bright multi-coloured Fifties floral prints or monochrome pink, purple, orange and green were all about the fetish aspects of the material, which in addition to Red Riding Hood head coverings and PVC capes looked like a Technicolour fairytale.
Finishing touches: Models trotted past carrying enormous leather zipped bags in oval and round shapes – they could have served as tabourets – and with a rectangular totes based on the shape of bulky plastic carrier bags.
