Mood board: Eschewing her hard-edged, cinched-up women of late, Sarah Burton delivered an Alexander McQueen show seeped in romanticism and swirling around a vortex of 19th century trimmings.
Best in show: Thanks to Burton's stewardship, the torch of wizardly workmanship continues to flicker at McQueen on such masterpieces as a blood red dress whose skirt whirled around the legs like blooming roses made from paper-thin sheets of chiffon and tulle.
Finishing touches: Along with the reddish eyeshadow and hair teased up into bird nest dimensions, the ladies wore sock-booties made from lace or trimmed in ruched silk tulle.
