Sportmax A/W 2015
Mood board: The rolling hills of the chilly British countryside inspired Sportmax's nature-tinged winter collection. Though there were plenty of wrap-me-up, luxuriously warm pieces, the collection was nonetheless beautifully prim and ladylike with its exacting silhouettes.
Best in show: As usual the coats, like a sleeveless mink hooded number or a tightly waisted caramel coloured pony skin version, were superb. But Sportmax also cut a terrific voluminous carrot shaped trouser shown in fuzzy ochre or crisp black wool that made it abundantly clear why this brand is a go-to shopping destination.
Finishing touches: Both the lace-up wedges, crafted from raw cut pony skin and stacked on a base of cosy felt, as well as the crocodile bucket bags, featured thick lashings of leather stitches, which had a hand-made organic quality to them.
