Marni S/S 2017
Marni's hard-core nerd wear took the Italian brand's quirkiness to an all time high for spring

Mood board: Key elements of hard-core nerd wear – i.e. heavy glasses, flood pants, cropped wide ties, geek fits on shrunken jackets – were all present on the Marni runway, bringing the Italian brand’s male equation quirkiness to an all time high for spring.
Best in show: Excellent knitwear appeared in traffic cone orange short-sleeved sweaters, colour blocked with green and white, and worn with navy cropped pants with hanging suspenders. The perfect topper coat materialised on this runway not to mention very cool Bermuda shorts with waist band air holes, paired with men’s shirting done in sporty sailor stripes.
Finishing touches: Marni’s shoes and eyewear are industry standards. This season glasses had half plastic rims only on the bottom rung, while ergonomic plastic shower sandals morphed back straps with a Birkenstock-like front buckle.
