Tod's S/S 2015

A former architect turned handbag designer, Andrea Incontri is one of Milan's best-kept secrets. Having now taken up official post as creative director of menswear, the designer brings clean lines and a graphic approach to Tod's classicism. For his debut 'JP Club' collection, Incontri deftly re-worked the pebble-soled moccasin with perforated air holes (breathable, but good-looking footwear is a rising trend in Milan) and introduced an expanded world of ready-to-wear, including buttery soft suede separates, and safari pocket twill jackets layered with matching vests. It was a chic off-duty look that settled in nicely with the luxury brand's MO. Tod's has experimented with other creative directors in the past - but with Incontri helming men's and Alessandra Facchinetti leading women's, the brand has wisely culled a home-grown pair of Italian design talent who can pluck out the best of what this global house stands for.
