Mood board: What Véronique Nichanian crafts at Hermès menswear has little to do with fashion proper, however the designer’s sophisticated and sensual wardrobe options still whisper l’air du temps, albeit softly. For autumn that meant the evolving middle ground between sport and suit, like the way a sweatshirt came cut in pinstripe cashmere, or a suit trouser in deep olive.
Best in show: The colour studies of Irish artist Richard Gorman figured first on the show invitation then most prominently as chalky blue shirt panelling, resurfacing for a dark finale woven into knitwear and a trim pony skin blouson.
Finishing touches: An intricate raised design of scuba goggles embellished the surface of a 'Plume Fourre-Tout' bag, adding a sense of boyish novelty to Nichanian’s more staid city looks.
