Moncler Gamme Bleu A/W 2015
Scene setting: Thirty-eight elm trees were planted into newly poured concrete gravel in a vertical line within the brand's Milan show space. After walking in sober gang-like groups of nine, the 74 models soon split up and stationed themselves in front of each tree. During an eye-blinding flash light show, they all stripped out of their puffer clothes to reveal a layer of checked printed clothing underneath.
Best in show: How to update the overdone puffer? Thom Browne did it this season by erasing the famous jacket's puff lines. Instead of square seaming, his puffer jackets came with clean bodies in super chic camel coloured wool, flecked grey tweeds and even knits.
Finishing touches: Slim, checked pants were tucked into riding boots crafted from rubber, patent leather and calfskin, all of which were trimmed in red white and blue. Also of note were the wool beanies and plastic vintage goggle-like eyewear.
