Mood Board: Count on Sarah Burton to imbue Alexander McQueen’s A/W 2015 collection with wartime references, a subject largely side-stepped by LC:M designers, however timely. Sombre stripes, military khaki and melancholy brocade florals dominated, bar for a pop of varying tones of blue at the end.
Best in show: The motto 'all men are equal in the face of duty, sharing equal honour, valour and truth', called forth the mentality of the Regency era, a time of war but also of an elegant Prince Regent. Those three powerful concepts, emblazoned across the opening pieces, were reminders of humankind’s ideal principles.
Finishing touches: Silver-tone and black medals placed on rigid uniforms added glamour to an otherwise moody show, as did the embellished and patent leather footwear.
