In the dark stables of the Grand Palais, Dries Van Noten played a dichotomy of punks and peacocks for Autumn, heavy with high/low theatrics that fused a new romantic sensibility with gritty street smarts. Ruffled shirting and pearl string chokers popped from under a myriad of strapped, topstitched and quilted outerwear options in striated tie-dye moleskin and Aztec nylon, grounded on Van Noten's signature motopants and panelled high tops. Four distinct colourways emerged as archival chapters of Van Noten regalia, in a feat of styling made clear in the finale: starting in rosy shades of pink (from salmon to fuschia), continuing into deep marine blues, acidic yellows and a rich bottle green.
