Wallpaper* Approved: our edit of London Design Week’s finest features

Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour has long been known as the destination for all your fabric, tile and wallpaper needs, but there’s been a big change of late and an influx of new blood expanding its furniture and design offerings even further.
Joining the stylish ranks of Armani/Casa, Porada, Porta Romana and Poliform this year are Front Rugs, who will be showcasing their most recent collections alongside the wallpaper designs of Cole & Son and fabrics of Pierre Frey. For many brands, this will be the first time they showcase their new collections on British soil. The classic events endure, like Conversation in Design and the scene-stealing installations (this year courtesy of paper artist Zoe Bradley and florist Philippa Craddock).
Taking to the stage to share their knowledge and creative know-how during lively panel discussions in the Conversation in Design programme are Patternity founders Anna Murray and Grace Winteringham, who join author Charlotte Abrahams to discuss the inspirational power of pattern. For those with an interest in architecture, Michaelis Boyd Associates’ Tim Boyd will share his creative approach to living and thinking like an architect.
The popular Design Trails make a comeback too, featuring our own curated contribution with Wallpaper* Approved. Set out by Wallpaper* interiors director Amy Heffernan, we’ve trawled the showrooms looking for furniture, fabrics, design items and accessories that meet our exacting standards of quality, creativity and modern appeal. The edit will be clearly marked out with a distinctive badge, so be sure to keep an eye out as you go around the glass domes.
’Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour feels like it has a new lease of life with so many new brands adding to its design credentials,’ says Heffernan, no doubt thinking about the upcoming openings of famous Italian furniture brands Giorgetti and Ceccotti Collezioni later this month.
