In Partnership With KEF

The contemporary listening experience is about space just as much as sound, as a new generation of listeners seek out technology that pairs audio quality with elegant form and materials. Cutting-edge audio consoles integrate streaming services and record decks, whilst speakers are no longer hidden away out of sight.

Into this world of aesthetic acoustics, KEF introduces its newest loudspeaker, the compact and sculptural LS LUXE. Designed by Ross Lovegrove as part of the industrial designer’s ongoing relationship with the renowned British audio brand, LS LUXE fuses a unique form factor with KEF’s high-quality sound and luxurious approach to materials and finishes.

Throughout an ongoing creative partnership with Lovegrove, KEF has been at the forefront of innovative audio design. Lovegrove’s neo-organic approach to form, sculpture and his love of new technology have been boldly expressed at a variety of scales, all of which explore the physical manifestation of sound. The designer’s previous work for the brand includes the monumental limited-edition Muon HiFi speakers, the sleek Mu7 over-ear headphones and the Muo portable Bluetooth speaker. All of these objects foreground form alongside audio quality, designed to be appreciated from every angle even when not in use.

As a result, LS LUXE is more than just a wireless hi-fi system. From the outset, Lovegrove and KEF have worked together to shape an object that transcends conventional form factors. Designed for all-round appreciation, from the organic speaker cover to the fluted, flowing forms on the back panel, the LS LUXE looks good wherever it is placed in a room. Available in Eclipse Black, Dusk Titanium and Mineral White, customers can make the speakers a focal point within a room by using a contrasting colour scheme.

Onboard, KEF’s 12th-generation 6.5-inch Uni-Q driver puts out a crystal-clear sound, with KEF’s own Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) reducing distortion and enhancing detail. Just as the speaker’s form appears to flow into a space, so the sound reaches out and carries throughout the room with consistency and detail. Through a combination of KEF's proprietary processing and Room EQ controls within the KEF Connect app, users can optimise performance for their listening environment. KEF's precise bass resolution is down to VECO, Velocity Control Technology, a sensor system that actively dampens the bass driver’s movement in order to keep low frequencies clean and undistorted.

All of this technology operates without fuss or additional complexity, working discreetly in the background to ensure LS LUXE always provides a no-compromise audio solution. Whether for personal, focused listening, background music for work or entertaining, or for use in conjunction with a home cinema set-up, LS LUXE can connect. KEF's own W2 Wireless Platform gives access to hi-res streaming systems including Tidal and Deezer, connected via Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, and more. There are also plenty of conventional wired connections, allowing you to hook up televisions and home cinema systems via HDMI eARC, along with turntables, CD players and other audio gear. Finally, the dedicated aluminium-finished C3 remote provides fingertip control.

These innovations have helped KEF create a premium speaker that can pair with any interior, align with design schemes and perform regardless of placement. Aesthetics are considered in parallel with acoustics. As the physical form of audio equipment gets more and more scrutiny, KEF’s pioneering approach has become increasingly relevant. The era of invisible, embedded speaker systems has been well and truly usurped by an emphasis on dynamic form, visible craft and colours that transcend the monochrome image of audio. In this sense, LS LUXE is designed not merely to reproduce sound, but to influence the character and atmosphere of a room. No longer hidden away, premium hi-fi is now proudly on display, considered an essential component of our expression of individual interior design.
