Rodarte A/W 2014
Judging from the appearance of some familiar faces, Rodarte's latest collection was rooted in a galaxy far, far away. The eccentric duo flew the flag high for sci-fi geeks around the world by putting Yoda, Luke Skywalker and C-3PO on a series of charmeuse evening gowns, in their signature kitsch fashion. Iconic silhouettes of the 1970s popped up recurringly, with pastel chiffon butterfly-sleeved dresses, plaid wool vests with shearling collars and turtleneck tunics aplenty. It wasn't all patchwork prettiness either. Shoulderless glitter jackets and swaths of metallic tulle helped to add a kooky, acid- tinged edge to the presentation.
