Brilliant beachwear capsule collections for sunning in style
Beachwear chic comes courtesy of four capsule collections – from Emilia Wickstead x Emporio Sirenuse, Chanel, Missoni x Mytheresa, and Totême x Matchesfashion – that are full of sartorial sunshine
We admit, the chance of a tropical beach holiday still feels far off for many. However, a sense of chic can still be brought to the local beach or lido, with or without the swathes of golden sand. Here we present four beachwear capsule collections guaranteed to get you in the mood for summer, whether you're taking in a poolside sunset or simply basking in the glow of a warm evening in your back garden.
Emilia Wickstead x Emporio Sirenuse
Ah the Amalfi Coast: crystal clear sea, panoramic views and the very best Italian cuisine you can imagine. For those not lucky enough to escape to one of the Mediterranean's most exclusive spots, may we introduce to you to Emilia Wickstead x Emporio Sirenuse's capsule collection. For the offering, the London-based designer has teamed up with Carla Paravicini Sersale and her niece, Viola Parrocchetti, the minds behind the Positano-based resort label, on a range of colourful swimwear and lightweight, luxurious separates in bold tones that nod to the bougainvillea and lemon trees synonymous with the sun-drenched setting. In celebration of the launch, seven Italian women are seen relaxing at the renowned Le Sirenuse hotel, sporting sublimely striped shirt dresses and chanelling all the understated elegance of la dolce vita.

Chanel
Coco Chanel was fascinated by the idea of bringing comfort and ease to women's dressing, a sensibility emphasised in the brand's latest Chanel Coco Beach 2021 collection, a surf-kissed offering featuring loose shirting, shorts and asymmetric swimwear. Here, the Parisian label has transformed its signature camellia flower and interlinking CC logo into a Hawaiian print, which is also emblazoned across bucket hats, beach towels and even a surf board. There's also a feminine flourish to the capsule collection's one-piece and bikini designs, imagined in elegant monochromatic hues, and accented with delicate bow details.
Missoni x Mytheresa
Back in 1948, the Missoni brand achieved fame when it designed tracksuits for Italy's Olympic team, but its upliftingly colourful, chevron-stripe designs are just as suited for the beach. In celebration of summer, the label has teamed up with German luxury retailer Mytheresa on an eight-piece beachwear capsule collection of swimwear, kaftans and tote bags, swathed in its signature zig-zag weave. There's also an ecological uplift to the offering, as pieces in the collection are made from shimmering and prismatic deadstock fabrics. Soak up vitamin D sporting these designs and you'll feel good in more ways than one.
Totême x Matchesfashion
Swedish label Totême is synonymous with a pared-back sense of chic, and now the brand has brought this element of insouciance to the summer holiday wardrobe. Totême has teamed up with Matchesfashion on a 13-piece beachwear capsule collection of easy swimwear pieces and cover-ups, spanning graphic logo-detail one-pieces and towels, nautical silk sarongs and throw-on terry dresses. The collection has been photographed beside the sea in the south of France, but its modern pieces will bring a timeless sense of style to any summer ensemble, whether you're on relaxing on the Côte d'Azur or sunbathing in the city.
