Flexform’s ‘Loungescape’ modular sofa is furniture as topographic wonder
Shape a new domestic landscape with Antonio Citterio’s latest seating system for the Italian furniture company

In Partnership With Flexform
Furniture humanises interior spaces. Seating – in its many forms and textures – invites us to linger and encourages moments of contemplation and connection. These are the thoughts of Flexform designer Antonio Citterio, who envisioned the organic contours of the ‘Loungescape’ seating system, creating versatile and changeable, topographic pieces that help shape a home’s interior, becoming a focal point and offering new perspectives on comfort and beauty.
‘Loungescape’s clean and friendly monolithic aesthetic is the result of a functional innovation; the system’s modular forms are meticulously designed to follow a principle of ideal balance between proportion and inclination. The subtle angle of the designs’ sloping base lends a sense of weightlessness to each structure. A single material covering the entire surface creates visual continuity, while clusters of soft, upholstered cushions add to the harmonious whole.
‘The idea of “Loungescape” stemmed from our work on the theme of the living area, which has been ongoing for over 40 years now at Flexform, with me and the Galimberti family working closely together,’ says Citterio, referring to the third generation of the company’s founding family that runs it today. ‘In this sofa, the raked base, a distinctive element of the project, gives a sense of lightness while maintaining a strong visual presence.’
First revealed during Milan Design Week 2025, and now available to buy, ‘Loungescape’ was conceived as a representation of absolute innovation, complementing and enhancing the existing Flexform collection. Beneath the modernity and handsome good looks, lies some genuine ingenuity; an exclusive pivot system ensures perfect assembly between the structure and the cushion, enabling quick and easy cover removal.
The modularity of ‘Loungescape’, along with the various available sizes, makes for a very versatile seating system, adaptable to multiple configurations. Meanwhile, a wide choice of textile and leather options allows for countless customisations. This is seating as part of the domestic landscape, furniture as a topographic wonder.
