Nendo’s animated furniture arrives in New York
Nendo’s ‘50 Manga Chairs’ installation takes over the Friedman Benda gallery
Nendo designer Oki Sato is once again displaying his ‘50 Manga Chairs’ installation, this time at New York’s Friedman Benda gallery.
Previously exhibited in the courtyard of the Facoltà Teologica dell’Italia Settentrionale at the 2016 edition of Salone del Mobile, the installation amalgamates the symbolic tropes of Manga comics with furniture design.
This time, the original animation for the exhibition is projected on the walls of the gallery, creating a heightened sensory experience for the viewer.
'Nendo: 50 Manga Chairs' is on view from 8 September – 29 October at Friedman Benda
