Styled by Karl Lagerfeld (opens in new tab); penned by über-muse Amanda Harlech; modeled by Claudia Schiffer, and all produced in honour of Dom Pérignon (opens in new tab)’s seminal Oenotheque vintage – Steidl's Dom Pérignon related tome is more than just a pretty picture book.
Telling the Wildean tale of an old money Dom Pérignon heir on the hunt for the perfect woman (played perfectly by American model Brad Koenig), Schiffer takes on the role of the book’s femme fatale, dressing up in numerous guises - ranging from Oriental temptress and libertine Ingenue to disco queen and dominatrix - all in the space of a few perfectly formed, achromatic pages.
Like a butterfly from a chrysalis, Schiffer's various transformations have been throughout up by Lagerfeld as a manifestation of the Oenotheque's unique aging concept. Like the best of Dom Pérignon's wines, Schiffer morphs seamlessly from 18th century heroin to 21st century woman, retaining her own innate personality.

The crowning glory in Dom Pérignon’s cellar, the Oenotheque (meaning 'library of wines') is certified only once it has reached the Chef de Cave’s exacting requirements. In order to achieve the Dom Pérignon's standards, vintages are released after 7 years - Oenotheque however, can take anything up to ten extra years to perfect, and it's at this stage that Dom Pérignon reaches a whole new level of complexity.

For the past four years, Karl Lagerfeld has taken his Francophilic duties to heart, stepping up to the creative plate to produce one-off campaigns to celebrate the launch of several key vintages.
The only alcohol to pass Lagerfeld’s lips, the designer has long held a torch for Dom Pérignon, and as such 'Visions and a Decision' (the book's title), has been a project close to the designer's heart.
