Natural balance: The Cold Pressed Juicery brings healthy elixirs to Amsterdam
'The Cold Pressed Juicery was founded with a spirited heart and an ambitious goal – to offer the purest, cold-pressed juices,' says Nathalie Streng, founder of Amsterdam’s newest health brand. Streng launched her first juice bar in a small space in the city’s Willemsparkweg back in October 2015. This was then followed by three more additions, each supplying nutritious juices and snacks for the health conscious. As the first and only 100 per cent organic Skal Biocontrole-certified cold-pressed juice bar brand in The Netherlands – a certification guaranteeing organic production – the menu reads like a health fanatic's dream; in addition to cold-pressed juices and power shots, plant-based raw foods are also on offer.
Streng has recently opened a fourth branch on Prinsengracht, located in the heart of Amsterdam. Housed in a historical building – where Rembrandt produced his final painting – the triangular exterior not only mimics that of New York’s Flatiron Building but also the diagonal pattern used on the brand’s bottles, created by Build in Amsterdam. The interiors and the spacial concept are the work of Standard Studio, whose meticulous attention to detail is apparent throughout the interior which also marks the third project with The Cold Pressed Juicery. Viroc flooring, wooden beams and a floating 5.5m-long sipo mahogany wood bar – spanning the entire building – fill the space, acknowledging the building’s artistic past whilst allowing the product in question to shine. Streng’s carefully curated furniture pieces and décor, including an &Tradition sofa and stools from Fabriek NL, finish off the space perfectly.
Evangelical about organic produce, The Cold Press Juicery and its new loyal following are blending their way to internal balance together.
