Bespoke Partnership
St. Regis Hotels and Resorts illustrates its spirit of celebration
A collaboration between St. Regis and New York artist Tug Rice captures the storied brand’s Gilded Age glamour and decadent modernity
In Partnership With St. Regis Hotels and Resorts
A fine hotel is conceived as both an act of passion and a commitment to make every guest’s stay one in which they can live exquisitely and celebrate lavishly. That has always been the spirit of the St. Regis Hotels and Resorts brand, ever since its first property swung open its doors on New York’s Fifth Avenue in 1904.
More than a century later, with more than 60 addresses across Europe, the Middle East and beyond, each St. Regis remains heavy with history; its shared timeless rituals reinterpreted through a modern, local lens.
The spirit of celebration
The art of gathering has long been its hallmark, inherited from the Gilded Age soirées of Caroline Astor, matriarch of America’s first high-society register and mother of St. Regis founder John Jacob Astor IV.
On Christmas Eve, more than a hundred of New York’s elite would be invited to attend one of her infamous parties in her storied ballroom, which would be transformed into a decadent winter wonderland, with abundant decorations, sparkling ornaments, verdant garlands, fine crystal and exquisite floral arrangements creating an enchanting backdrop.
This season, the brand’s ethos as the House of Celebration is brought vividly to life through a collaboration with illustrator Tug Rice. In a series of vibrant compositions, Rice reveals how celebration thrives in both spontaneity and ceremony, St. Regis rituals and those created with loved ones.
Afternoon teas, champagne toasts and midnight suppers appear alongside quiet exchanges of affection, allowing each illustration to feel like a window into the brand’s rich heritage. Across its global addresses, St. Regis becomes a home for revelry, reflection and connection, where tradition and modernity harmonise in moments both large and small.
