NIOD’s copper peptides are a skincare saviour
NIOD’s science-led products are designed to enhance skin’s natural powers of recovery, using the power of collagen-boosting copper peptides
In partnership with NIOD
Toronto based, science-led beauty brand NIOD understands that the skin is an intelligent organ. The largest in the human body, it’s resilient and flexible, sensitive to the slightest touch and capable of fast and precise self-healing, with pre-installed mechanisms that guide remarkable repair and regeneration.
However, the ageing process causes a decline in the synthesis of collagen and elastin, resulting in structural and operational changes. This materialises in the emergence of wrinkles, reduced firmness, elasticity, and thickness. So while the skin is still working hard, it needs a little help to maintain optimum functionality as the years progress.
NIOD’s collagen-boosting skincare is powered by copper peptides
Driven by this deep understanding of skin biology, NIOD’s products are formulated to enhance the natural functions of the skin, allowing it to perform at its best. NIOD stands for ‘Non Invasive Options in Dermal Science’, and its in-laboratory experts are dedicated to exploring novel approaches to skin optimisation and the complex challenges of ageing skin.
Through a series of in-vitro experiments, the researchers sought to gain a deeper understanding of how copper peptides (GHK-Cu), which are known for their antioxidant effects, can combat the ageing process.

Their studies went on to demonstrate an increase in collagen levels in human dermal fibroblast cells (which contribute to the formation of connective tissue) when skin is treated with GHK-Cu, underlining the integral role of this peptide in maintaining skin firmness and reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
Harnessing these findings, the company has created a range of products using copper peptides as its hero ingredient. For tonal inconsistency, dryness, and textural irregularities, NIOD’s Copper Amino Isolate Serum 3 1:1 (CAIS3) also targets visible signs of ageing, while optimising healthy-looking skin.
Complementing the serum, Copper Amino Isolate Lipid 1% (CAIL) is formulated to enhance the natural functions of the skin, delivering firmness and lift, radiance and uniformity.

Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex (MMHC2), meanwhile, is designed to offer sustained skin hydration, thanks to 15 hyaluronic compounds with a peptide-based delivery system to amplify its hydrating benefits.
NIOD’s hero product for the eye area – targeted at reducing visible signs of ageing, such as crow's feet, and the puffiness and dark circles caused by fatigue – is the Fractionated Eye-Contour Concentrate (FECC). The serum packs 72% active technologies into its formula.

Our surrounding environment and lifestyle can cause a bodily imbalance between antioxidants and free radicals. (The umbrella term for this chemical process is 'oxidative stress', a chain reaction contributing to early onset skin ageing). The Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist (SDSM2) is designed to be spritzed onto the face and body, protecting against environmental stressors, from UV radiation to pollution. It also prevents water loss, reducing signs of dryness and ageing.
Also in NIOD’s armoury is its Hydration Vaccine (HV), a ‘hydration seal’ that can be applied after serums to supplement the skin’s natural barriers to water loss. This helps to promote a plumper (and younger) looking complexion.
