Hotel Paseo — Palm Desert, USA
The raw beauty of California’s Palm Desert is the backdrop for a worthy new addition this month. Hotel Paseo is the vicinity’s first new-build luxury hotel in over 30 years and brings with it a bevy of creature comforts that still honour the heritage and serenity of its surrounding landscape.
Fitted with 150 guest rooms, nine suites and a fully refurbished Airstream trailer from 1950 for an especially memorable experience, the hotel stands like a modern-day oasis with its offering of contemporary art, retro lawn sports, such as a putting green and shuffleboard, an indulgent seven-room spa, and of course its pool, cabanas and hot tub. Designed by Kay Lang and Associates, the hotel’s interior combines mid-century modern gestures with desert-appropriate accents.
From the angular porte-cochère entrance to the use of cool Carrera marble in the lobby, and numerous special details, such as a custom-made glass chandelier, the hotel is a deftly executed ode to California chic.
Capped off with its restaurant and bar, AC3, which brings together three of the deserts acclaimed restaurateurs, the New American eatery serves up classic with an international twist, Californian craft beers and cocktails all day long.
