Copenhagen’s design-loving crowd has been rejoicing at the latest crop of showrooms that popped up throughout the city during 3daysofdesign – but one stands in a category of its own.

Menu Space, is the latest retail destination from design firm Menu. It is located in Copenhagen’s thriving Nordhavn, an area that has recently flourished with architectural projects such as the transformation of The Silo by COBE. The new 700 sq m HQ combines showroom, office and café in one beautifully composed space, designed in collaboration with Norm Architects.

The emerging creative district in fact helped inspire the concept – the space fosters co-working and future collaboration. The café, run by cool Copenhagen-based Depanneur, serves freshly squeezed juices and coffee as well as delectable Danish delights (pastries, that is), and being the first café in the area, it unifies the local community.

Meanwhile, the impeccably formed interior takes its cues from the surrounding neighbourhood by utilising concrete, steel and other durable materials, which lend the space a heavy industrial character. Menu’s more refined objects that fill every inch of the showroom, add a touch of sophistication, creating a beautiful contrast of raw and polished textures.

For the perfect cup of coffee coupled with a hit of design inspiration, Menu Space is a feast for the senses and a hub that connects all – a novel approach, sure to set it apart from the rest.
