For summer, the brand has partnered with Roseanna to create a playful range of the brushes. Using a special injection technique, La Bonne Brosse has created a tie-dye-like pattern on the enamel exterior, which comes in three colours – pink, sky blue, and lime green. A perfect way to protect hair from summer damage.

Why we love it

Emma Lewisham's Sunceutical Cream isn’t a new launch, but it’s become a summer essential for us this year. A sunscreen that is creamy and hydrating like a moisturiser, it's enriched with niacinamide to help brighten skin and soothe redness. We love it because it gives our skin the added dose of hydration we need during the summer while still being lightweight. It also has a pore-blurring effect that makes it a great replacement for foundation if it’s feeling too hot out to put on any extra make-up.

How to use it

Apply 20 minutes before sun exposure and reapply every two hours.

Repetto began life as a ballet shoe company in 1947, rising to renown after creating its signature ‘Cendrillon’ flat for Brigitte Bardot a decade or so later. Since then, its styles have been adopted by names in fashion, film and music – memorably, Mick Jagger and Jane Birkin, who made the jazz-inspired ‘Zizi’ (above) into the 1970s’ shoe du jour.

These leather ‘sneakers’ from Spanish house Loewe – now under the creative directorship of American designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez – evoke the traditional jazz shoe in their ultra-soft construction and supple sole. They are completed with a metal ‘Pebble’ on the lace, featuring the house’s signature ‘Anagram’ motif.

Michael Rider is perhaps responsible for the proliferation of soft, flat derby shoes, featuring them as part of his debut runway show for Celine last summer (iterations of the ‘Ballet Lace-Up’ have featured in the American designer’s collections since). Available in embossed mock croc, optic white, or signal red, emblazoned with the Celine monogram, our favourites are this pair in warm suede calfskin.

The ballet flat has become ubiquitous in recent seasons, and its appeal shows little sign of abating. This pair by avant-garde label MM6 Maison Margiela offers a signature contemporary twist, not only in the addition of an elastic band featuring the brand’s numeric tag (created by founder Martin Margiela, it categorises each garment into the maison’s various numbered lines) and an intriguingly shaped toe, recalling the contours of Margiela’s signature ‘Tabi’ shoe.

These soft nappa leather flats from Proenza Schouler are called the ‘Glove’, named so for the way they fit neatly onto the foot. Unlike the other lace-ups on this list, they are crafted without a tongue, giving them a feeling of lightness that makes them an alternative to sandals on summer’s warmest days.

Titled the ‘Prima’, Demna’s version of the dance shoe at Gucci sees the Georgian creative director meld the Italian house’s signature horsebit loafer – originally created in 1953 by Aldo Gucci – with a ballet flat. The result is the type of intriguing hybrid for which Demna is known.

Scandinavian label Arket is known for its well-designed, high-quality – but accessible – collections, which often incorporate the prevailing trends of the day. Case in point, these lace-ups, crafted from ultra-soft leather with a flexible sole, evoking those found on jazz and dance shoes.

Miu Miu arguably brought back the ballet flat with its A/W 2022 collection, which featured the style updated with a Miu Miu-branded elastic strap. Since, the house has offered variations on the style, including these ‘Plume’ satin sneakers, a low-top style in light pink satin – a fabric long associated with the dancer’s studio.

Why we love it

Perfumer H’s lotions and soaps instantly elevate any bathroom, and the brand’s long-lasting scents transform even the mundane experience of washing your hands into a pleasure.

To celebrate the season, Harris has just unveiled a new addition to the bath range – Bergamot. The Bergamot hand wash, body soap, lotion, and bar soap have a fresh citrus quality, enhanced by clean aldehydes and petitgrain, as well as deep notes of frankincense and juniper wood. The collection is also, for Harris, an ode to her much-loved pastime of wild swimming. ‘For me, bathing is about reconnecting with your natural rhythm. I love how it completely transforms you, and allows your body, your energy and breath to slow down, reinvigorating your mind,’ Harris says. With this new collection, Harris has captured a bit of that feeling in a bottle, creating a refreshing fragrance that lingers on the hands long after use.

Why we love it

Dior Paradise is the latest addition to the brand’s extensive perfume catalogue. A fresh, woody fragrance that blends the milky warmth of almond with bright notes of mandarin and is sweetened with a strong dose of vanilla. Perfumer Francis Kurkdijan was inspired by Christian Dior’s Provençal holiday home, which contained a garden filled with hundreds of almond trees.

The scent’s mixture of citrus and gourmand notes makes for an ideal summer scent, with a soft but long silage that endures throughout most of the day.

Incense sticks from the famed New York perfumer.

Why we love it

For the first time, Le Labo’s most popular fragrances are available as incense. As with everything the New York-born brand does, craftsmanship is at a premium. The sticks are made in Kyoto at a twelfth-generation family-owned workshop and can be paired with a handmade concrete incense holder. Unlike most incense, which leaves behind a burnt smell that overpowers the fragrance it's scented with, Le Labo’s incense actually smells like its perfumes, only infused with a subtle, woodier quality. Available in Encens 9, Ambroxyde 17, and the brand’s iconic Santal 26, each pack contains 35 sticks that each burn for about 25 minutes.

Why we love it

The new radiance duo from cult Australian brand Rationale features two products designed to complement the brand’s core six-step skincare range. The Serum is formulated with hyaluronic acid, sodium hyaluronate and glycerin to hydrate skin and brighten your complexion, ideal for those who struggle with extremely dry skin. The Mist is designed to be hydrating as well and small enough to fit in your bag, so that you can liberally spritz it throughout the day whenever you need refreshment– always helpful, but especially great for hot summer days.

Why we love it

Dries Van Noten makes some of our favourite lipsticks, largely because of their extensive and out-of-the-box range of colours. Now the brand is launching tinted lip balms that carry on what the lipsticks started. With a smooth texture that’s between matte and sheen, the balms come in five shades – Frosted Blue, Sepia Mocha, Natural Blush, Poppy Red, and Electric Pink – that leave behind a subtle touch of colour. They also come in the same, pattern-clashing cases as the lipsticks, with a new addition to the collection, Tiger Ink, a design that combines a tiger motif with black-and-white stripes.

What it is

Designed for wavy hair, the uniquely textured product (it really feels like dipping your fingers into pudding) defines, moisturise and prevents frizz. 

Why we love it

Mai Nami founder Yasmine Anais Ghandour was inspired to create her brand’s signature ‘hair pudding’ after trying and failing to find a product that suited her wavy hair. A multi-purpose product that can be used for styling, repair, or both, the pudding is formulated with mango butter for breakage reduction, rose water to prevent frizz, and slippery elm for light definition. 

How to use it

The pudding can be used three ways: as a mask for deep hydration, left in for 20 minutes and then washed out; as a styling gel worked through damp hair; or as a refining tool, applied in small amounts to dry hair for frizz reduction and added texture. 

First appearing on the Prada S/S 2026 runway last September as part of a show which mixed up working uniforms and eveningwear to propose a ‘new elegance’, this pouch reimagines the humble Prada dustbag in silk duchesse satin. It makes for a playful alternative to the stuffy evening bag, though it can also be worn with a T-shirt and jeans, slung over the wrist for a daytime wander.

This Celine pouch also takes a humble silhouette and reimagines it in bold blue lambskin with the house’s signature ‘Triomphe’ motif becoming the bag’s hardware. Befitting American creative director Michael Rider’s preppy-inflected vision for the house, it comes in a multitude of vivid hues, from ‘ultra’ yellow to lime green.

Arriving as part of the house’s ‘Days of Summer’ collection, this second iteration of the Prada ‘Wish’ pouch is crafted from suede with top-stitching around the edges. With a strap long enough to be worn over the shoulder, it makes for a handy summertime companion – whether for day trips to the beach or while exploring a new city.

Los Angeles designer Sophie Buhai is best-known for her jewellery, though a new range of accessories proves she is just as adept when it comes to handbags. Case in point, her drawstring ‘Teardrop’ pouches, which are handcrafted in LA from soft satin and adorned with tiger’s eye beads on each of the cords – a flourish which recalls her signature beaded necklaces.

This Burberry pouch is a two-in-one: entirely reversible, on one side is protective black nylon, on the other, Burberry’s signature check in its traditional ‘sand’ colourway. Completing the accessory is the Burberry knight logo, an archival motif from the 1980s, which current creative director Daniel Lee has revived during his tenure.

This delicate Miu Miu tote bag is crafted from white lace, capturing the mood of girlish femininity that runs through the Miuccia Prada-run label’s collections (albeit with an undercurrent of subversion). It fastens with delicate leather drawstring straps, allowing it to be worn on the shoulder or grasped in the hand.

A dustbag might traditionally be used to protect accessories from damage while in transport or storage, but Bottega Veneta’s ‘Dustbag’ (with a capital D) is made to be displayed. Like the original, it features a simple drawstring design, though it is crafted from soft strands of leather, woven using the house’s signature intrecciato technique.

This Loewe cotton pouch is the spoils of a collaboration between the Spanish house and the estate of Louis Wain, an eccentric Brits artist known for his illustrations of cats. A series of his more futuristic depictions of the animal appear on this bag, motifs which also appeared across wallets, charms and sweaters.

Why we love it

Loewe’s unconventional approach to home scents has made it a favourite of ours, with scents such as Tomato, Beetroot and Oregano that transform ingredients you would usually find in your kitchen into luxury fragrances. The latest addition to the family, Pistachio, is one of the best yet, with a nutty, slightly milky scent that develops into a sweeter notes as it burns.

Like all Loewe candles, it comes in a ribbed terracotta pot inspired by a 5th-century BC Greek mug owned by former creative director Jonathan Anderson, which, for this particular one, is a joyful pistachio green colour. 

What it is

A four-piece kit designed for at-home facial cupping. It includes small cupping tools for use under the eyes, around the nose, and around the mouth, as well as larger cupping tools for the cheeks, jawline, forehead and neck. 

Why we love it

FaceGym’s raison d'être is creating tools that transform your facial structure by working the 40-plus muscles in your face. We love the Facial Cups kit because it’s one of their most effective (and fun to use) tools for doing this yet. Skin looks tighter after one use and, with regular use, the tool’s improvement of lymphatic flow and blood circulation helps skin look firmer and healthier long term.

Why we love it

When word spread last year that beauty entrepreneur Sharmadean Reid was launching a new brand, everyone was curious what it would be. The result, unsurprisingly, has become one of the most lauded new brands among industry insiders.

39BC’s line of perfumed body oils is inspired by ancient bathing practices like those found in Roman bathhouses, Japanese onsens, and North African hammams. The Alexandria collection takes its inspiration from Cleopatra’s Egypt with a range of four scents: Silk Veil, Denarii, Fig Milk and Sage Water. Their oil-to-milk cleansers are formulated with sunflower, almond, avocado, and castor oils that leave skin feeling exceptionally soft. While the fragrances leave skin (and your bathroom) gently perfumed for hours. 

How to use it

Apply directly to skin in the shower or pour into warm bath water.

Why we love it

Chanel’s Hydra Beauty has a reputation as one of the industry’s best-performing skincare lines for a reason. The line’s fundamental, Chanel-patented ingredient, White Camellia PFA, is grown at the brand’s open-sky laboratory in Gaujacq, France and then reconfigured by an in-house team of scientists as skincare with exceptional hydration and repair benefits. 

The ‘microfluidic technology’ in the newest addition to the line, the Micro Gel Crème, preserves the hydrating power of white camellia extract within thousands of micro-bubbles that release upon application. Its lightweight, gel texture creates a barrier on the skin that protects it from pollutants and creates an ideal primer for make-up. While its hydration bubbles release high-power moisturisation for quick relief from dry skin.

What it is

Why we love it

Exist is a new beauty brand doing something truly different from any other brand out there by using extremophiles (ingredients that can survive extreme environments, like outer space or inside volcanoes) to create products with healing properties unlike anything grown above ground on Earth. 

The Spacelip lip balms are the first products from the brand and use ingredients grown by Nasa to make lips visibly smoother and more hydrated within one use, while within three days creating smoothness and firmness usually only possible with filler use. It is available in two formats: Origin 001, a richer formulation scented with a fragrance co-designed with Givaudan; and Void 000, an unscented and lighter formulation.

How to use it

Use as you would any lip balm.

Part of Prada’s S/S 2026 menswear show – though easily swapped between genders – this red jacket in crisp, technical gabardine captured the collection’s ‘light, fresh and colourful mood’. We featured it in the pages of the March 2026 Style Issue of Wallpaper*, capturing the growing trend for colourful outerwear.

Polo Ralph Lauren is currently having a renaissance, in part down to a preppy revival on the runway – both Dior and Celine have mined the all-American dress code in recent seasons (in fact, the latter’s creative director, Michael Rider, was previously at Polo Ralph Lauren). This classic Harrington jacket – a brand hallmark – comes in a faded vintage green, complete with its iconic embroidered Pony logo on the chest.

A riff on classic workwear styles, like Carhartt’s signature Active jacket, this hoodie-cum-jacket by Japanese label Auralee is a suitably lightwear layer for cooler spring days and summer evenings. But it is most appealing for its satisfying pink hue – proof of founder and designer Ryota Iwai’s reputation as a master colourist.

A bold and uninhibited use of colour has been at the heart of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez’s tenure at Loewe so far – the American designers’ first collection for the house, shown last year, was inspired by the ‘elemental colours’ of Ellsworth Kelly. This balloon-hem yellow jacket – also available in red and beige – captures this sunny mood to full effect.

We have already highlighted the windbreaker as our jacket of the season, a humble, once-nostalgic style which has staged a comeback thanks to its embrace by brands like Miu Miu, LII and Saint Laurent. The latter has created a series in nylon faille – a technical fabric which mimics silk – and various block-colour hues, like this in a bold shade of blue.

Stone Island is known for its expertise in garment dying, a process which takes place at its Willy Wonka-esque factory in Ravarino, Italy (we took a visit here). This jacket is one of the spoils of its various experimentations, arriving in a perfect shade of sugary pink.

Burberry has ben outfitting its wearer against the elements since the 1850s, and remains best-known for its signature trench. This nylon anorak is a more contemporary riff on rainwear, arriving in a bold cornflower blue and completed with a Burberry check trim – wear it solo, or layer under a heavier jacket for a satisfying flash of colour.

Red is likely to be one of this summer’s unavoidable colours, with Dior, Prada, Chanel and Celine all embracing hue in its brightest shade (think: cherry, lipstick and pillarbox red over burgundy and maroon). This Miu Miu blouson might be the season’s archetypal shade, and, as it is made from lightweight poplin cotton, can be worn long into summer.

Why we love it

The two shades and creamy texture of this palette make it ideal for contouring that looks completely natural. On our test run, it lasted from morning to evening without needing any touch-ups, while its matte texture kept it feeling light on the skin without being drying.

How to use it

To wear, apply the light shade to the points that get the most sun – the bridge of the nose, apple of the cheeks – and then apply the deeper shade along the cheekbones, hairline and temples to add depth and dimension. Finally, use a blender brush across the face to create cohesion.

Creams designed for hands and neck by Yasmin Sewell’s Vyrao, scented with five of the brand’s signature fragrances, which are designed in collaboration with neuroscientists to boost your mood.

Why we love it

Vyrao was met with some scepticism when it launched in 2021 with its proposal that the energy-healing principles of practices like Reiki could be combined with neuroscientific research to create fragrances that could provoke everything from general happiness to feelings of attraction. But the London-based brand has a growing customer base who love Vyrao because its perfumes really are capable of changing how you feel (it also helps that they smell amazing, too).

The new hand and neck cream comes in two of our favourite scents from the brand, Ludatrix (for sensuality and energy) and The Sixth (for mindfulness), alongside three others. Its dense, ceramide-packed formulation is instantly nourishing, while its fragrance can last for a few hours, making it a nice way to add a new scent dimension to your everyday perfume.

How to use it

Sewell recommends rubbing the cream on your hands before patting your neck and taking in a big inhale as a calming ritual to be repeated through the day.

Aesop’s new serum, designed specifically for hands, that works with the same efficacy as the brand’s famous facial care.

Why we love it

The neck and hands can often be revealing indicators of our age because the delicacy of the skin there means it's hyper-prone to irreversible damage. They’re also easy areas to forget about until the damage has already been done, which means that years of fastidious attention to your facial skincare can be quickly undercut by wrinkly and dark-spot-laden hands. Aesop’s new hand serum is a welcome solution for those of us who forget that our hands need to be taken care of, too. A lightweight serum with a non-sticky texture, it’s formulated with niacinamide, dandelion root and LHA to reduce discolouration and brighten skin. It won’t turn back the clock on your hands if you’ve never taken care of them before, but it will noticeably improve their appearance after a few uses.

Add the Solais Replenishing Hand Serum to your daily skincare routine by applying after your facial care and then following up with some hand cream to lock in the moisture.

Following the debut of its full range of lipsticks last year, Celine Beauté has expanded into lip balms with a collection of eight shades that range from colourless and beig to bolder reds and a deep purple.

Why we love it

One of the most interesting things about these balms is that they’re matte, which means they leave behind a subtle flush of colour without the glossy effect of most balms. More impressive is that it manages to do this and still be highly moisturising. Black rose oil extract and hyaluronic acid spheres make lips instantly and lastingly softer, meaning that you don’t have to reapply throughout the day as with most balms. While the shades are subtle (even our favourite, the dark red ‘Constance’, leaves behind only a light, but flattering flush), they are naturally plumping.

Our favourite thing about them, though, is that as soon as you open the faceted, silver container (inspired, like its lipstick predecessor, by Louis XVI’s jewellery and art deco design), you’re hit by a fragrance similar to the signature accord from the brand’s line of fragrances.

Augustinus Bader has become a household name thanks to the near-miraculous anti-ageing benefit of its TFC8 formula. Italian haircare brand Davines’ formulas have been refined to remove unnecessary ingredients. Each features an average of 93 per cent ingredients of natural origin, 92 per cent biodegradability, and fragrances with enhanced biodegradability.

Why we love it

Davines has always been one of our favourite haircare brands because its formulas work so well, and most of the ingredients it uses are grown on the brand’s very own regenerative farm in Bologna. Always conscious about environmental impact, the brand's new Essentials range (available online 22 April 2026) has been designed to have as little negative impact as possible. The formulas are also designed to leave hair even healthier than their predecessors.

How to use it

Ambre Levant is the latest addition to Louis Vuitton’s Journey to the Middle East collection, an olfactory exploration of the region which takes oud sourced from Louis Vuitton's exclusive supplier as the central feature of each of the four fragrances. For Ambre Levant, in-house perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud enriched the weighty, resinous quality of oud with another ingredient traditionally associated with the region, amber, to create a potent blend that instantly announces itself when it enters the room.

While crafting Ambre Levant, Cavallier-Belletrud pictured the image of a glimmering palace, its silhouette warped by the heat of a desert sun. As such, the fragrance shifts between various notes – mandarin, cinnamon, white incense, labdanum, and ambergris – with the warm, golden quality of amber running throughout.

Horace’s fragrances are so popular that past launches have inspired fans to line up around the block of their Paris stores in order to get their hands on them. The reason is that the men’s grooming brand has found the perfect balance between creating high-quality scents that appeal to both fragrance aficionados and the most low-maintenance man, all at an accessible price point that appeals to anybody.

The brand’s latest launch, Mescal Musc, is a boozy blend of davana (a liquorice-y herb), vetiver, guaiac wood and birch tar. All of Horace’s fragrances are handmade in Grasse by IFF’s team of expert noses, and their unique mezcal-musk accord makes its first-ever appearance in the new fragrance.

Dior’s Cuir Saddle is a unisex scent that sees in-house perfumer and fragrance-world superstar Francis Kurkdjian at his best. The fragrance, which was launched earlier this year, is a homage to Dior’s iconic Saddle bag, which became an emblem of early 2000s style when it made its debut at John Galliano’s Dior S/S 2000 ready-to-wear show. Inspired by the way the leather bag melds itself to the wearer’s body, Kurkdjian set about creating a leather skin fragrance that tempers the smoky and animalistic qualities usually associated with the scent in favour of florals and soft musks. The idea is to subtly enhance the scent of your own body chemistry.

Zengna’s Il Lanificio is a men’s cologne that blends spring-y notes like freshly shorn sheep wool and warm vanilla, with a touch of gentle metallic notes inspired by industrial machines. The fragrance is part of the brand’s new Memorie collection, a line of six scents designed to evoke different moments from founder Ermenegildo Zegna’s life. Il Lanificio is a homage to Zenga walking around his wool mills in the Italian Alps, where the raw material is transformed into the brand’s famous cashmere.

Astier de Villatte's Tucson smells like dust, but in a nice way. It’s the musty, sandy dust of the desert with its dry air and arid landscape illuminated by harsh light. As far as spring fragrances go, this one is ideal for those who prefer their perfumes slightly animal-like and earthy, but want to keep it on the lighter side for the change in weather. Spray it on and top notes of strawflowers will immediately conjure images of tumbleweeds rolling in the wind, while notes of thyme give it that animal tinge, and heated birch gives it a scorched-earth quality. Notes of amber and resin ground it further to create a scent that is light but distinguished.

Dries Van Noten’s fragrance line is dedicated to uniting contradictory scent profiles, and for Crazy Basil, those scents are an exceptionally vibrant, fresh note of basil with warm, slightly spicy notes of sandalwood and amber. The first spritz hits you with a foliage-like freshness that is brightened by the addition of subtle citrus notes, before settling into its rich, resinous base. As the fragrance's perfumer, Jean-Christophe Hérault, says, this is ‘a true-to-nature aromatic note of basil getting crazy with the vibration of cedarwood and amber’.

An exercise in Scandinavian restraint, this drawstring windbreaker from Arket is cut from simple – and ultra-lightweight – black nylon. A drawstring waistline gives a satisfyingly voluminous shape, while an exaggerated funnel-neckline nods to one of this season’s signature silhouettes.

Windbreakers feature in Saint Laurent’s men’s and womenswear collections for S/S 2026, albeit reimagined in Anthony Vaccarrello’s louche and luxurious style. This bold womenswear jacket has a colour-blocked design and signature wide-shoulder line, while the fabric is nylon faille – a silk-like iteration of the technical fabric.

The men’s version of the Saint Laurent windbreaker has become ubiquitous in recent months – it even appeared on the Grammys red carpet, worn by Mark Ronson over a shirt and tie. The design first appeared as part of a S/S 2026 runway show inspired by the summertime ‘ease and escapism’ of Fire Island, New York (see above).

This anorak from COS comes in an uplifting shade of pale blue – a nod to springtime skies – though is also water-resistant, should those skies change to grey. A pullover style with a funnel neckline, it comes from the men’s department, though can easily be swapped between genders (as can most on this list).

Created for sport, though just as easily translated into an everyday wardrobe, this striped half-zip jacket is part of the latest collaboration between Spanish fashion house Loewe and Swiss sportswear brand On. Made for the ‘unpredictability of everyday living’, it is constructed from weatherproof polyester and can be easily folded into a bag for the onset of April showers.

Part of one of Pieter Mulier’s final collections for Alaïa – the critically lauded Belgian designer will head to Versace later this year – this zip-up jacket is crafted from radzimir, a technical-silk blend with the slightest of sheens. Think of it as an ultra-luxurious riff on the shell suit.

Somewhere between a windbreaker and a track jacket (another ubiquitous piece of outerwear for the season), this blouson from Miu Miu sees the Italian house put its typical spin on the quotidien. Out of all the list, this will provide the greatest protection against the elements: inside its technical shell, it’s fully lined with soft grey fleece.

An enlivening injection of colour comes from this perfectly pink Prada raincoat – perhaps the most joyful way to fend off springtime showers. It’s made from lightweight Re-Nylon, the Italian house’s pioneering recycled fabric, while a percentage of each sale goes to the Sea Beyond educational program.

A multi-pack of T-shirts might usually signal the mundane – recalling school uniform shopping trips to Marks & Spencers – but this Miu Miu jersey set is anything but. Comprising three different shapes – long-sleeved, cap-sleeved and vest – they have been designed to slot together, though the composite parts can equally be separated out and worn solo.

August Barron, the young Paris-based label by designers Bror August Vestbø and Benjamin Barron, is known for its playful approach to dressing which often sees garments melded together in a gleeful collage (the approach saw them nominated for the LVMH Prize 2025, making it to the finals). The pair’s brilliant S/S 2026 collection, titled ‘Real Housewives’, was an attempt to ‘suspend moments of undress’ – like this twisted triple-layered sweater that appears like you are removing several garments at once.

Miu Miu’s S/S 2026 collections featured aprons and pinafores with almost every look – a musing, said Mrs Prada, on ‘the importance of work... its significance, its relevance and meaning’. If donning a pinafore for your day-to-day proves something of a sartorial challenge, this two-in-one sweater-cum-apron from the brand is a more wearable – but still effective – alternative.

Diaphanous layers of organza and tulle have long appeared in Simone Rocha’s collections. This cap-sleeve T-shirt, encased in a layer of ballet tulle and edged with lace, is one such example, capturing the Irish designer’s wistful brand of romance.

Founded in 2018 by Barcelona-based twins Claudia and Sayana Durany, Spanish label Gimaguas has built a cult following with pieces that capture their home city’s insouciant dress codes (unsurprisingly, Rosalía is a fan of the brand, as well as contemporary it-girls Charli XCX, Gabbriette and Addison Rae). This triple-layered T-shirt is Gimaguas 101 – team it with a micro mini and maxi shades to complete the look.

Layering doesn’t have to be just for your upper half. This Acne Studios skirt, in off-white satin, appears as if constantly hiked up, revealing a lace-trimmed slip beneath. Indeed, the slip was another of the S/S 2026 season’s defining trends, so think of this as the ultimate two-in-one.

The men’s shirt by CDG Homme – one which could equally be swapped between sexes and worn oversized – features a double-collar and contrasting brown lining for an altogether more understated riff on the layered-up look.

This mini dress by Wardrobe.NYC – which can also be worn as a top over a pair of trousers or a skirt for even more layering – features an intriguing shade of yellow, a departure from the label’s usual uniform shades of black, navy and grey.

This vase by Gaetano Pesce is a contemporary icon where sculpture, craft and function converge. Often made from soft resin – a material that the Italian architect and designer popularised in the 1990s – the vase features vivid colours and fluid, organic forms. This piece is part of the 'Fish Design' collection, known for its playful shapes and layered textures, with no two pieces exactly alike. The collection reflects Pesce’s belief that design should celebrate individuality, spontaneity and material experimentation.

Designed in 1925 by Austrian architect Oswald Haerdtl for the seminal Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris, the 'Ambassador No. 240' drinking set by J & L Lobmeyr represents Viennese glassmaking at its finest. The mouth-blown crystal glasses feature long stems and elegant proportions in the restrained spirit of art deco. Produced by the historic Lobmeyr workshop, founded in 1823, the series includes several stemware forms – these lavender-tinted models are now out of production, making them a rare and charming variation.

Designed in 1967 by Danish architect Arne Jacobsen for the homewares company Stelton, the 'Cylinda Line' collection is a landmark of Scandinavian modernism. Crafted from brushed stainless steel, the collection is defined by its strict cylindrical geometry, creating a cohesive family of tableware. This cruet set for condiments such as oil, vinegar, salt or pepper perfectly embodies Jacobsen’s minimalist philosophy, combining clean lines with everyday functionality.

Designed by Finnish artist Tapio Wirkkala in the late 1960s, the 'Ultima Thule' carafe draws inspiration from Arctic landscapes. Its textured surface resembles melting ice, achieved through experimental mould techniques developed at the Iittala glassworks. The 'Carmencita' moka coffee maker, designed in 1979 by Italian architect Marco Zanuso for Lavazza, reimagines the traditional stovetop espresso pot (which we spotlighted fresh from its appearance on the stage at the Winter Olympics opening ceremony) with a bold conical silhouette and angled handle. Made from aluminium, it heats quickly to produce rich moka coffee while also prioritising ergonomic use. Inspired by a character from Italian television culture, 'Carmencita' blends everyday function with playful design, becoming an enduring icon of late twentieth-century Italian coffee culture.

Created in 1997 by Dutch designer Hella Jongerius (whose archives just went on display at the Vitra Design Museum), the 'Red/White Vase' explores the intersection between craft and industrial production. Cast from restored medieval pottery moulds, the porcelain form deliberately retains visible seams and irregularities. Its defining feature is the bold colour contrast: rather than a traditional glaze, Jongerius applied industrial spray paint, including a vivid red. This vase is part of her ‘Misfit’ collection, which challenged the modernist ideal of perfect uniformity, celebrating imperfection and experimentation.

'Celotocaulis' is a textile pattern created around 1930 by Austrian-born designer Josef Frank for the Swedish design house Svenskt Tenn. The motif features flowing botanical forms inspired by plant stems, typically printed using traditional screen-printing techniques on linen. Coach and track jackets have been ubiquitous on the Miu Miu runway for a number of seasons – notably, a series of 1990s-inflected zip-ups which appeared as part of Miuccia Prada’s S/S 2025 collection. Where Mrs Prada goes, others tend to follow: this classic track jacket in navy is the equivalent of getting it straight from the source.

As sportswear brands go, Adidas arguably ‘owns’ the track jacket – it has been part of its oeuvre since the late 1960s. British designer Grace Wales Bonner is drawn to this era in her ongoing cult collaborations with the brand – this jacket, with Adidas’ classic trefoil emblem, encapsulates her nostalgia-tinged vision.

This two-tone tracksuit jacket by Parisian house Celine also captures a certain 1970s nostalgia: albeit cut from luxurious double-faced jersey and adorned with the distinct serif emblem. Our favourite detail, though, is the zipper, which features a tiny version of the house’s ‘Triomphe Monogram’ in metal.

Amsterdam-based label Extreme Cashmere is notable for the way it takes garments not usually constructed from cashmere – skirts, bra tops, even ‘evening gowns’ – and rewrites them in the noble fibre (though always with an irreverent cool and bold palette). This blouson-cum-track jacket is one example – you won't take it off this winter.

Martine Rose has long drawn inspiration from the rave culture she remembers from growing up in London as a teenager. Her version of the track jacket for the season – it’s a garment she has often returned to – is shrunken in volume for a typically off-kilter silhouette.

We are big fans of New York-based label Commission, which sees designers Dylan Cao and Jin Kay draw from both the street style of their current home city and the 1990s dress codes of their mothers, who grew up in Vietnam and Korea respectively. This A/W 2025 jacket draws inspiration from Judo attire, and is satisfyingly ‘off’ in its muted colour palette.

An attraction to maximalism has long informed Alessandro Michele’s approach to design, something he brought from Gucci to Valentino, where he is now creative director. This Valentino Garavani jacket captures this approach: 1970s-inspired, it features a bold V-shaped design and classic Valentino emblem.

There's always something to be said for a classic. From Madonna to Run-DMC, Pharrell Williams to the boys of Brit pop, the Adidas three-stripe jacket is as much a cultural institution as it is a garment. As Madonna fans, our choice is this bold red.

New York-based label Willy Chavarria is built on juxtapositions, instilling work- and sportswear with the abundance – and dramatic silhouettes – of Parisian haute couture. This nylon track jacket comes with its own feeling of elegance: when worn, its designed to fall generously on the body.

While track jackets tend towards the boldly hued, this version from Loewe is appealing in its restraint: crafted from black jersey with the slightest sheen, it is contrasted with clean white piped stripes and the Loewe monogram on the chest. With black trousers and dress shoes, it’ll pass as eveningwear.

Thames & Hudson’s ‘Catwalk’ series provides encyclopedic catalogues of a designer or fashion house’s runway oeuvre, with each edition featuring over 1,100 looks (as such, they provide physical troves of inspiration for those done with scrolling and screens). The latest addition to the family is Jean Paul Gaultier: spanning the French couturier’s debut in the 1970s to his final show in 2020 (the house is now in the hands of Dutch designer Duran Lantink), it is a rip-roaring journey through the enfant terrible’s boundary-dissolving collections and all their hallmarks, from tattoo prints and pneumatic conical bras, to his signature sailor stripes. The last are also wrapped around the cover of the book, which serves as a testament to the French designer’s wit, irreverence and pin-sharp eye for silhouette. You’ll also notice just how many times his work has been referenced by designers since.

Cindy Sherman’s beguiling, shapeshifting self-portraiture is the subject of Anti-Fashion, which was released by Hannibal Books earlier this year to coincide with an exhibition at FOMU Antwerp. The perfect gift for those whose interests straddle both art and fashion, the colourful tome collates the American artist’s work within the fashion world through both her own vivacious use of clothing in her images – a longtime tool for transformation and provocation since the beginnings of her career – to her collaborative projects with the likes of Comme des Garçons, Stella McCartney and Harper’s Bazaar. ‘It seems boring to me to pursue the typical idea of beauty, because that is the easiest and the most obvious way to see the world,’ she says.

The hefty Assouline-published tome, promising an immersion into the Louis Vuitton ‘universe’, is one for lovers of luxury: recalling the house’s signature trunks, it is sheathed in a damier-check display case which, when removed, reveals an image of a locked clasp. As such, it is as much an adornment for your home as reading material, though there is plenty to be gleaned about Louis Vuitton’s history across its visually rich 400-odd pages, arranged by 54 thematic words (‘Monogram’, ‘Trains’, ‘Architecture’ and ’Leather’ are a few; the number is a nod to the year of founding, 1954). As with all Assouline books, the binding is superlative, individually made by the publisher’s expert artisans.

‘I’m completely surprised that I got this far,’ Rick Owens told Wallpaper* earlier this year as he opened ‘Temple of Love’, a career-spanning retrospective at Paris’ Galliera which took you from his grungy Hollywood Boulevard bedroom in the 1990s (literally, it was recreated in this space) to his blockbuster runway shows at Paris’ Palais de Tokyo. This accompanying book provides a deep dive into the Dark Prince of Fashion’s oeuvre (a nickname he told Wallpaper* he approves of), capturing his singular eye for silhouette, spectacle and form. Rizzoli, the publisher, calls it the ‘essential’ compendium of his work, while an arresting cover – featuring his wife, muse, and closest collaborator, Michèle Lamy – makes for a striking addition to any bookshelf.

Another aesthetically pleasing monograph comes courtesy of Loewe, which, earlier this year, released a ‘visual retrospective’ of Northern Irish designer Jonathan Anderson’s acclaimed and transformative tenure at the Spanish house. Now the creative director of Dior – he left Loewe after a decade in March 2025, succeeded by Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez – the book catalogues the multidisciplinary ‘world’ Anderson created during this time, comprising not only striking imagery of his collections (some never before seen), but also his collaborations and initiatives, including the annual Loewe Craft Prize. Spread over a vast 636 pages, its cover features one of artist and longtime collaborator Anthea Hamilton’s pumpkin sculptures – a visual leitmotif of his tenure.

The annual Costume Institute exhibition at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of fashion’s most anticipated moments – in large part because of the annual Met Gala which heralds its opening, a starry red-carpet event which has long transcended the world of fashion. This year, the exhibition honed in on the figure of the ‘Black Dandy’, inspired by Monica Miller’s Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, with the academic also serving as co-curator. Featuring a lush photographic series by American image-maker Tyler Mitchell, alongside works from the show itself, there are also contributions from Miller and The Met’s Andrew Bolton, William DeGregorio and Amanda Garfinkel.

For those seeking a respite from the hubbub of the festive season, this deeply thought book from academic Adam Murray provides an intriguing exploration of fashion’s relationship with the idea of home – taking you with him to living rooms and kitchen tables the world over, from Beverly Hills to north London. Featuring 23 artists in total and divided into three sections, it is a loose sequel to two 1990s exhibitions, ‘Pleasures and Terrors of Domestic Comfort’ at MoMA and The Barbican’s ‘Who’s Looking at the Family?’ (as such, works span the 1990s to the present day). ‘The basic start [of this book] was my interest in fashion image, and how that is often not dealt with in an interesting way,’ says Murray. ‘So it's arguing that fashion doesn't exist in isolation, that it's just another part of visual culture.’

Twenty years in fashion, particularly for an independent label, is some achievement – a landmark which London-based Canadian designer Erdem Moralıoğlu reached this year with his eponymous brand, Erdem. This celebratory book, which traverses these two decades, is for those who favour this whimsical and the romantic – most of Moralıoğlu’s collections draw inspiration from notable (but oftentimes less celebrated) women from history. ‘The stories I’m interested in have always been about capturing a moment in time,’ he says, and this book – with its vast catalogue of transporting archival imagery – does just that.

Of the many AI-enabled objects that crossed my desk in 2025, the one I’m still using is the Plaud Note Pro. This credit card-sized note-taker might not be all that more functional than a modern smartphone, but it’s the act of taking it out and turning it on – mimicking the traditional reporter’s recorder – that makes it work so well.

I fell in love with the Tric Trac as soon as I first saw it on one of my very stylish colleagues. Elegant but also fun, excellent in a versatile Sahara Brown or a playful, bright colour pop – this is one to swoon over.

I’ve always thought the mark of sophisticated adulthood was having a reliable roster of go-to things: a bottle of wine you always bring to dinner parties, a restaurant where everyone knows your name, a dish you can cook with your eyes closed. Despite the fact that I’m well into adulthood, I’ve achieved none of those things, but I have found a gift that I know everyone loves: a Loewe candle.

Their beautiful ceramic vessels and somewhat off-kilter botanical scents make them incredibly chic and an easy crowdpleaser. This year, the brand has released three new scents for the holidays: Black Sesame, Earl Grey, and Sweet Almond, which, in my opinion, are their best yet. The Black Sesame scent is particularly intriguing, with a rich, treacly, spicy character that makes you want to stay in the room forever.

In my early teens I read that Andy Warhol used perfumes as memory devices – wearing them for just long enough that they attached themselves to a particular moment of his life. Then, when he was feeling nostalgic, he’d go back, smell one and instantly be zapped back to that time. Since then, I’ve been switching up my perfumes on the regular because I’ve never been good at keeping a diary, and it turns out Warhol’s method works a treat.

Still, there are a few scents I love too much to relegate to one era of my life, and Celine’s Nightclubbing is at the top of the list. It smells like cigarettes, whisky and sweat with a touch of vanilla. Having it on makes me feel like I should be in black and wearing leather, just like the kids in former creative director Hedi Slimane’s photographs.

If Nightclubbing is the nighttime fragrance I can’t part with, then Régime des Fleurs’ Himitsu Violets is the daytime one. I’m usually attracted to rich, tobacco-y scents and Himitsu Violets is none of that: it has a powdery, sweet smell, almost like Smarties candies, with a touch of leather and a strange synthetic element running throughout. It’s weird, but for some reason totally beguiling.

Last year, I visited Régime des Fleurs’ New York office to learn more about the scents in their collection (all of which are amazing) and immediately fell in love with this one. I fell in love with it even more when I found out that it was inspired by Japanese schoolgirls wearing latex suits under their uniforms – fun!

I only have a travel-sized vial of it left, and I've started saving it for days when I need an extra bit of luck because good things always seem to happen when I’m wearing it. Is it the perfume that causes the good things, or my attitude when I have it on? Who knows, but imagine how amazing 2026 will be if I get a full-sized bottle.

For months, I’ve been dreaming about owning a pair of heeled, knee-high, bright purple boots. I don’t know why this vision came to me, but I haven’t been able to get it out of my head since. So imagine how I felt when I was walking Bond Street recently and saw these in the Miu Miu store window. It was like running into your celebrity crush at a party, or King Arthur happening upon the holy grail during a walk through the woods – what are the chances?! These boots and I are obviously destined to be together, so someone please buy them for me for Christmas.

For most of my life, I’ve avoided white leather. It reminded me of the Brooklyn women I knew growing up who smoked Parliaments and enjoyed a glass of white wine with ice at noon. Fabulous, yes, but just not my style. Then, a few months ago, I was in Florence and happened upon a leather shop that was selling a long, white leather coat with a popped collar and big, round buttons. I tried it on, and suddenly I was like Monica Vitti or Romy Schneider – enigmatic, European, living in 1977. This was the woman I wanted to be!

So now I can’t stop buying white leather, and next on my list is this Acne Studios bag. It’s roomy enough that it can fit all the books, magazines, makeup, and backup shoes I like to bring with me wherever I go. It also has a lot of pockets, which is always handy.

I already have a Foreo Bear, but I feel like I need another one because this little device has totally transformed my skin. I use it for a few minutes every day, and it eliminates blackheads, reduces my pores, evens my skintone, brightens, tightens and generally makes me look better, something that is much needed as we enter holiday party season and the skin-destroying winter months.

I’m by no means above jumping on a bandwagon, and I’ve loved the ‘girlhood’ trend that has been circulating for the last couple of years. This candleholder from Completedworks captures the spirit perfectly, adorned with whimsical charms, bows and hearts. Irreverent and adorable.

I’m obsessed with Maria Szakats’ fluffy artworks, which combine her background in fashion with art and regularly draw on medieval and Renaissance fables. This piece, Agnes with Spider, is inspired by a portrait of Agnes Sorel, mistress to King Charles VII of France, rendered in sumptuous mohair.

Is it practical? Probably not. Do I still want it? Absolutely. I’m a firm believer in the ‘surprise and delight’ theory when it comes to interiors – the idea that placing the occasional unexpected or arguably ‘unsafe’ object can make a space feel intentional and curated without ever tipping into maximalism. Æquo, founded in 2019 to showcase collectible Indian design, understands this well.

I love these weird, malformed glasses – their wonky stems and bulbous bowls proving, once and for all, that perfection is overrated. Studio Szkło treats glassblowing as an experiment, using moulds made from natural materials like bricks, wood and stone. Sometimes, traces of these materials get caught between the layers of glass, only adding to the charm.

I’ve been after one of these romantic lampshades from Maud Vaughn’s own collection for ages. The cotton-linen folds, cream lining and black grosgrain ribbon recall the puffed skirts of 1950s haute couture designers like Christian Dior and Guy Laroche.

I consider lighting a candle to be the solution to most of my problems. Christmas is usually an excuse to stockpile The White Company’s Sea Salt edition, but this Bois Vert candle raises the bar. Housed in an elegant porcelain vessel, its mint-green wax and bronze medallion elevate it to art object status.

A beautiful candle deserves an equally whimsical matchbox. MG&Co.’s embossed sleeve embodies the art of romanticising the everyday.

I’m endlessly charmed by Sophie Lou Jacobsen’s homeware, as evidenced by her double appearance on this list. I love the simple, clean fun of these aluminum coasters.

Shell motifs are having a moment, and Portuguese goldsmithing house Tavares 1922 has long been ahead of the curve, crafting jewellery and homeware rooted in Lisbon’s maritime heritage. This salt cellar-slash-sugar bowl is elegance epitomised.

I’ve been secretly scheming to swap out one of our perfectly good rugs for a Nordic Knots model for some time now. I’m a long-time admirer of the brand’s quiet, thoughtful designs – and am particularly drawn to the simple geometry and calming palette of the Park series, pictured here in the shade Sunrise.

This side table is inspired by fusilli pasta (the Florence-based Burgio team’s favourite shape). Enough said.

The work of German product designer Tina Bobbe walks the line between the fantastical (sadly her terrazzo espresso martini dispenser is only a concept) and the actual – like this exquisite hand-brew coffee maker in natural stone, resin and glass.

Colombian designer Natalia Criado’s metal and glass creations are divine, and this Perla mug feels like jewelry for the table: sleek, minimal, yet elevated with patinated brass details and a creamy stone handle in lava rock.

More wiggly, wobbly tableware for party season. I'm personally not a fan of hosting (the pressure is too great), but this ‘Spirale’ serving set from L’Objet is perfect for enjoying solo salads in style.

Sophie Lou Jacobsen’s vases, particularly her Giardino Segreto series, are nothing short of ethereal. First released in October 2023 during Paris Art Week, they capture the delicate, diaphanous quality of a flower through expert hand-blown craftsmanship.

Copenhagen-based label Tekla makes pyjamas good enough to leave the house in – a louche mode of dressing which is currently having a moment. Case in point: this sateen pyjama shirt with piped edges, which I would happily wear with blue jeans and a white T-shirt, though the full set would make the perfect gift for those wishing to luxuriate at home this festive season.

Speaking of luxuriating, 39BC’s oil cleansers are based on ancient bathing rituals and leave a scent which lingers through the day (I use it as a final step in the shower to perfume and moisturise, and favour the fresh, verdant ‘Fig Milk’ which has notes of fig, cyclamen and green leaf). The relatively new brand was founded by London-based beauty entrepreneur Sharmadean Reid – if her past projects are anything to go by, expect it to be everywhere in 2026.

If a tie was once a somewhat uninspired gift for the men in your life, a recent necktie renaissance – in part down to Matthieu Blazy’s tenure at Bottega Veneta – has made the accessory desirable once again. My current favourite? This preppy striped tie from Michael Rider’s first collection for Celine, playfully sliced away at its end.

Some of the best beauty products can be found in the aisles of a drugstore – particularly when it comes to an everyday moisturiser – though occasionally a product is worth a more weighty price tag. MyBlend’s revitalising cream, for me at least, is one of them: a transformative moisturiser that’s a pleasure to apply and has a suite of actives, from the familiar (hyaluronic acid, peptides) to the niche (fermented turmeric, marine prebiome). The line was developed by epigenetics expert Dr Olivier Courtin, who also created another Wallpaper* favourite, the MyBlend LED mask.

Full disclosure, I already have Extreme Cashmere’s ‘Xtra Out’ zip-up cardigan in my wardrobe – so perfect is its just-slouchy shape and weighty cashmere knit that I’m already looking to add new colours to my collection (currently I have it in felt grey; this ‘latte’ hue is next on my wishlist). I love the way it can be worn on its own as a sweater, or layered over other knits as a jacket – perfect for Britain’s changeable weather.

I don’t think there’s currently anybody in my life quite generous enough to gift me this Prada tote, though as this is a wishlist, it’s claimed a spot. A love child of sorts between a traditional bowling bag and Prada’s Buckle Bag – named for the belt which runs around its top – it first appeared as part of Prada’s brilliant A/W 2025 menswear show, which was full of pieces to lust after (next on my list is this charm bracelet, adorned with anchors and four-leafed clovers).

While the labubu might be somewhat tired – as predicted, they proved to be a largely fleeting trend – there is an undeniable attraction to the bag charm. My favourite is this supersized rugby tassel by London-based label Stefan Cooke in mint and charcoal stripes.

Being introduced to Balenciaga’s fragrances in Paris in June was one of the year’s highlights – the range of ten fragrances had been meticulously created to evoke the essence of the house and its founder, Cristóbal Balenciaga (all the way down to the bottle, which is a recreation of a rare Balenciaga fragrance discovered at a vintage market with all its patina of age). All of them are incredible, but I loved the freshness of Getaria – named after the Spanish coastal town where the couturier grew up, it is an intriguing blend of salt and citrus, and quite unlike anything else I’ve smelt.

Founded by former Dazed editor-in-chief Isabella Burley, we named Climax – which has outposts in London and New York – as fashion’s favourite bookstore. Now counting fans which include Dev Hynes, Kyle Maclachlan and Paloma Elsesser (each featured in Climax’s ‘Under the Cover’ video series), alongside the store’s curation of rare fashion and photography tomes, Burley has created an equally desirable range of merch – from a ‘Honk if you like books’ bumper sticker to this zip-up hoodie, which I'll be wearing all winter long.

The idea of domesticity is at the heart of Jonathan Anderson’s refreshed vision for his eponymous London-based label, transforming his Soho store into an inviting emporium not only of clothing but ceramics, artworks, furniture and even honey, all available to purchase. He’s also put a greater onus on craft: these vivid emerald slippers are made in Italy from silk jacquard fabric usually used for upholstery, and woven by British experts in historic damask silk. But above all, they encapsulate the comfort craved through the winter months.

I still love bar soap, and in its simplicity and size it makes for the perfect gift – whether given alone or nuzzled into a stocking. London-based brand Perfumer H’s not only looks good (each bar is hand-wrapped in gold-flaked paper) and is good for your skin (it is made of 100 per cent natural glycerin), but also comes with all of founder Lyn Harris’ olfactory mastery. This one, ‘Ink’, has notes of black pepper, juniper and cedar wood, papyrus, vetiver, frankincense and a ‘smudge’ of rose, designed to evoke blue ink on paper and lingering long after you’ve rinsed your hands.

Arte House opened on Golborne Road in May and features a beautifully curated collection of art and objects. One of my favourite releases of 2025, Choke Enough is the debut album from French artist Oklou (pronounced Okay-Lou) aka Marylou Mayniel. It's inventive, exciting electronica for fans of A.G. Cook and FKA Twigs.

These miniature digital cameras make a great gift for teens. Inspired by the 1987 Kodak Fling, the keychain camera captures 1.6MP photos and 30fps AVI videos through a 35mm-equivalent lens. They come in 'blind boxes', with seven retro designs available. The demand for these cameras is extraordinarily high – they are out of stock at most retailers, WEX are currently taking pre-orders.

I need a new everyday bag and I can't shake my hankering for Coach's Brooklyn bag in suede. Ubiquitous? Perhaps. But I like the Almost Famous of it all.
