Introducing the September issue: the Style Special
Rejoice! The September issue (W*198) is here. Within our annual Style Special you will find this season's new looks – as well as an array of other daringly polished things...
As fashion is our main focus here, start with our sharp-edged slice of all the new styles from this season's stand-out skins (page 224). Following that peep show, look to our tailor-made tour of the New York Gallery scene, with suitably smart gallery-going gear for him and her (page 202).
Blurring the boundaries of art and fashion, flesh and fantasy, renowned British artist Marc Quinn takes on the role of art director and photographer in 'Human Nature' (page 166) inspired by and featuring his muse, dancer Jenny Bastet. Making a similar leap from fashion to art is Hussein Chalayan, who directs a dance at Sadler's Wells theatre (page 148) with costumes full of pulling power.
If you are in the mood for shopping, be sure to visit the newly launched Wallpaper*STORE for our edit of design desirables, staples and giftables. Or browse the 'Newspaper' pages (page 083) for retail inspiration. Speaking of shops and interiors, read up on Elie Saab's new Paris flagship (page 156) – it's a real head-turner – and find out why Valentino customers will be wearing Australian painter Esther Stewart's designs on their sleeves this season (page 145).
Jewels shine bright in 'Silver lady' (page 128), as LA designer, curator and accidental jeweller Sophie Buhai discusses her sculptural approach. Taking to the high seas, an Alex Thomson-helmed Hugo Boss yacht prepares for sailing's greatest challenge following a Konstantin Grcic fit-out (page 122).
If that isn't sweet enough, finish off by tracking down a batch of Ralph Lauren's favourite chocolate brownies from the 'Artist's Palate' (page 242). Resistance to temptation, you see, is utterly futile...
