Planet Art collects and distills the most valuable information about contemporary art in the news today. The iPhone and iPad app is the first and only app to aggregate global news exclusively about contemporary art, and is targeted at anyone who wants to be kept up-to-date on what is happening in the art world. UBS is an active participant in the field of contemporary art, through its renowned UBS Art Collection, international arts initiatives like the Guggenheim UBS MAP, and as global lead partner of Art Basel. UBS developed Planet Art to provide its clients and the art world at large with a simple tool to navigate the growing and often fragmented landscape of art information available today. Planet Art collects and organises news, features and market stories from a broad range of sources, including The Art Newspaper, ARTnews, Art in America, ArtFCity, Art Asia Pacific (China), BBC Culture blog (UK), Financial Times (UK), The Guardian (UK), New York Observer’s Art & Gallerist, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. The “intelligent” app uses a unique algorithm to read, index and objectively rank the articles, which can then be customised in a dedicated section called "my stream" so users can follow news and features on specific artists, institutions, cities, events and more. The Planet Art app is available free of charge from the App Store. It works on iPhone and iPad devices (iOS 8.1 and higher) and is in English.
