'The underpinning rationale of this show is to look at the breadth of digital creativity in the 21st century,' explains guest curator Conran Bodman of the Barbican’s sprawling exhibition, 'Digital Revolution'. Spanning interactive installations to art created with code, the 2014 show examined the rise of digital culture and its influence on everything from fashion to pop to apps. It marked the first time such a diverse array of media had been brought together in this framework, evolving and mutating over its two-month run, with many immersive exhibits bringing the viewer right into the artwork.
