Rag & Bone S/S 2015
As the label of choice for cool girls the world over, Rag & Bone did not disappoint with its confident, utilitarian collection this season. The design duo of David Neville and Marcus Wainwright leaned towards an oversized silhouette, which took the form of generously sized blazers; low-slung trousers that draped loosely around the leg; and long, spacious dresses that enveloped the figure instead of revealing it. The silhouettes cleverly retained their definition with a smattering of functional, sport-inspired details: nylon strap belts gave elongated jackets a cool edge, while exposed zippers, stitching and drawstrings reinforced the functional feel that urban dwellers love so much. A jolt of prints - curling, line-drawn florals and pixellated palm fronds - played on the idea of camouflage, albeit significantly prettier in the sophisticated palette of camels, creams, black and white. Rebelliously nonchalant, yet still carefully put together, Rag & Bone's clothing is made for city living.
