Opposite New York’s Mercer hotel in what was formerly Canteen, restaurateur and entrepreneur John McDonald and his partner Josh Pickard have revamped the space into a fancy fish restaurant called Lure. Designed by Serge Becker and Derek Sanders of Can Resources, Lure looks like a 1940s luxury yacht, with portholes, chandeliers and lush teak panelling throughout. The menu ranges from traditional fish dishes to sushi, oyster platters, crab cakes and ceviche but our favourite has to be the raw lobster on toast.
