Following the launch of hotel Praktik Bakery earlier this year, it seems Spanish hotel group Hoteles Praktik has come to the conclusion that man cannot live on bread alone. So in a bid to saturate Barcelona’s appetite for attainable hospitality options, the company is taking on a second essential Mediterranean staple by letting local wines flow freely at Praktik Vinoteca. Located in Eixample, a semi-residential neighbourhood in the centre of the city, the 64-room hotel has once again been outfitted by local designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán, who took his cue from the world of viticulture; custom-designed retro-chic wine prints adorn the walls in each guestroom while a colourful patchwork of hand-painted hydraulic tiles lay the foundation for the courtyard patio. Chances are guests will never make it past the reception area, which doubles as a tasting room with complimentary tipples from the thousand wine bottles lining the walls and shelves.
